I notice a trend that once you ignore(i.e. not clicking on) a new alert on new thread comments you won't get alerts on the same thread until you click into the thread yourself. This could be it.

Anyway, the other half isn't visible because it's in the back, and lazily put on. I did this because it part of his attitude. Think of it as a visual context to the subject's traits.
