I don't really know how to title this :p

I made this post in a general discussion topic, but I thought I may as well throw it in here. The way I wrote it sounds really complicated, but it could be simplified! I haven't checked any updates in planned mechanics and whatnot in quite a while, so I'm sorry if this is obsolete or useless. I still think it's good to try and throw ideas and discussion out there regardless.

        I don't remember, lol.

I think I was trying to say... uh, hm. More or less things that crops can do beyond basic money making and simple recipes. :p I feel rather silly now.

So from what I understood, you could have several different types of feed that would have different effects on the animals that ate them. And you could possibly mix them together for stacked effects.

And you could have dishes that had different effects as well.

Personally, I think these are really good ideas, but for the second one, instead of the ingredients having different effects, make the recipes have different effects. I think that would simplify things.

Yes, I guess that's it! Really just ways for crops to be really interesting, as they fall pretty short in games like Rune Factory and Minecraft (and sometimes even Harvest Moon).

I still need to learn how to be more clear with my English, lol.

I guess you could sort of think of it the way cooking and alchemy works in some other games (namely Elder Scrolls and such). Cooking is fine simplified! Every food just needs an advantage. For example, a flaw in Harvest Moon with cooking is that you don't really need to bother with most of the dishes. A dish made with just an egg is better in just about all circumstances than a very complicated one; you don't really need to bother too much with crop supply/variety at a certain point in the game. A complicated recipe may never be worthwhile as a stamina restoring food, but maybe it has a very useful purpose otherwise. It's not so much the cooking that's the point, as it is making crops a deep and interesting aspect of the game :)

I think this is an awesome idea, Frisky Fox. It would be a great way to adjust the health and happiness of your livestock. If you had several rainy days in a row, or storms, and your animals are stressed out, maybe you could mix up a special feed that would reduce stress.

Maybe breeding crops would be an cool idea so that you could maybe make plants that are alot more resistant to weather and such. Altough maybe not a ridiculous amount of traits so you couldn't make an OP plant that would ruin the game in terms of variation.
