I have two crew members, and they're always really close to the teleporter. I've seen some pictures of other people's ships and their crew members also seem to have an affinity for the teleporter. Are these isolated incidents that I've witnessed or is there a teleporter-fever going around the universe? If so, what is causing this?

I have some annoyance with the crew members myself.

I built a room that I dont really want them to go into, and set the door to be locked with wiring.

Except they all mill around the door trying to use the seats or bed in the room. They will all stand literally in the same spot to get to something innaccessible.

How was the rest of the ship set up? Are there interesting things for them to interact with? If you just have the teleporter, that will be the most interesting thing on the ship. NPCs need things to do stuff with.

For some reason, they will also become interested in doors they can't open. Once I had an underwater colony, and I had one tenant who always wore a plague doctor mask, and I could always find him practically plastered to the airlock. I wonder if maybe I kept my underwater garden outside and he was interested in that? I don't have that colony anymore, so I can't test that theory anymore, but try placing some things from in the room to other accessible places of the ship and see if that helps make them happy?

Set up a room with objects that NPCs can interact with like chairs, benches, vending machines and arcades.

Don't forget Beds to sleep in :) I do advise use lunar beds to save space

Yeah similar to @Sairyu, seems that unless there are intractable EVERYWHERE they do clump near one or two spots (Teleporter included sadly).

In my Glitch ship I kinda gave up and "herded" my crew to the bottom and converted it to a crew quarters and mess hall :DD

That ship is very nice. I'm trying to think of how I want to decorate my avian ship, but I just can't.

After a bit of struggle, I was able to get my crew of 9+ Avali to move away from the teleporter by placing hammocks everywhere, and they eventually started to disperse.

In my experience a lot of it comes down to your room design and their pathfinding. Certain types of "stairs" (your platforms for going up or down levels) they have issues with, as well as things placed on the floor. Lots of clutter can confuse them as well, especially if it's in a smaller room or intersection. Certain bits of "shelving" will throw them off too if it's in the wrong place. Vertically adjusting the rooms with blocks has had issues for me as well, just a single row of blocks on the floor to raise a piece of furniture in a smaller room confused them.

In this ship they roam around what is shown, however the back half (not shown) has confusing stairs in my cargo hold as well as a shrine I made that has various ups and downs, all of this they rarely go toward on their own. Also they don't go in the rooms with my healing spring bathtub or kitchen often.

Basically you just have to watch and see where they are jumping repeatedly in place or wandering back and forth in front of and than adjust it.

They are also attracted to some paintings (especially the Mona Lisa) and Water Dispensers (the smallest object that attracts them ;))

The reason behind of this issue is the TP itself. It's because the Crew is trying to USE the TP (any any other object they can interact with), but since unlike normal TPs, ship TPs cannot be used by NPCs, they get stuck like that.
