Creepy underground houses

Hello everyone, hope you are all enjoying Starbound as much as myself. :)

In my travels across the vast universe of Starbound I found a very creepy underground 'village'. (I say village in quotation marks because there is no people in this 'village')

Here is a picture of one of the many houses in this biome, you cannot interact with them, hitting them causes the house to shatter you give you 10+ pixels. Basically these houses replace vases.

What makes this place so creepy, why does it make me feel so uneasy?

    1. Once you enter this biome all music stops, it very quickly fades out and you are left to wonder around in this abandoned 'village'. The only background sounds the player hears is the eerie sounds of the wind.

    2. This biome seems to have it's own type of block. (seen in the picture above, the background blocks between the cobble and gravel).

    3. In this biome there are seemingly useless lamp posts scattered everywhere, they do not produce light and seem to lead somewhere but most lead to dead ends or huge underground lakes. They are very difficult to follow.

In this image it displays the lamp posts and the biomes blocks

What is this place and who's houses are these?

I like that you don't actually see the occupants; it makes it much, much creepier, at least to me. It's all just so inexplicable.

Do the lamp posts not produce light? Pretty sure they did when I saw them.

They do produce a very dim light.

Anyways, it is pretty creepy. But I do end up smashing in the houses for the pixels. So whatever is in those houses are pretty much gone after I see 'em lol.

I found a biome like this. It wasn't completely silent, there was this music that lasted about 30 seconds. Something about that music.... it was very creepy, I don't know why.

The house-like structures, now referred as SCP-1623, can be found in [DATA EXPUNGED] at [DATA EXPUNGED] meters under the level of the sea. Their inhabitants, known as SCP-1623-1, are [DATA EXPUNGED] entities that are capable of [DATA EXPUNGED].

    [DATA EXPUNGED]: [DATA EXPUNGED]

Dr. ███████ confirmed that SCP-1623-1 can become hostile if they are exposed to [DATA EXPUNGED].

the music stopping just mean you hit the depths

right now the planets are divided into:

    surface
    subsurface
    deepsurface
    depth 1
    depth 2
    depth 3

the music stops when you hit depth 1 and depth 3 is the core of the planet.

there are other mini biomes in depth 1 that as creepy as this one, the abandoned mines are very strange too, the lack of music (and the windy background) add even more to the creepiness of it.

I found this too!! I was sooooo weirded out when I ran into "soft bricks" deep underground (after running into an Avian Tomb site on the same world), and then there was this tiny house. Would love if it was possible to enter them (they'd be like the Tardis, bigger on the inside? 8D). I was a little disappointed when it wasn't possibe to interact with them, and I couldn't take them with me. Hitting them with the matter manipulator only turned them into pixels. I'm quite sure I brought the wrath of the tiny people upon me now. :((((

Is there any indicator of these over ground? I had to break of because I ran out of torches and stuff, and I very much doubt I'll ever be able to find it again ...

They are pretty weird, but it's a really chill zone for me. I jacked a ton of the bricks and use them in my ship, now.

I usually find diamond ore in the soft bricks so I always look for this biome.

Yeah, it's full of ores of all kinds. Kind of a blessing really, it's usually void of monsters for me and it's full of ores.
