So the whole animal system in starbound at my point of view is a friend or foe type deal. There should be the whole food web from the producers (not really gonna do much unless specifics like some planets with lower amounts of plants bring low oxygen levels herbivores may eat plants or farm food ext. the carnivores eat the herbevior and then a food chain comes in place maybe a randomized food chain (evolution???* herbivorous shouldn't have giant sharp teeth for ripping my robots wires out) and same goes for the carnivores just a thought didn't put much thinking into this. . .
