Hi there, I'd love to create an entirely new area, with its own features and town. It's own shop that would contain it's own stock, different collectables, different fish in the area, etc.. Basically an entire expansion to the game world. That would still run alongside the original game world. How easy would this be to do? Edit: Effectively an implementation of all this.
new areas: Easily new shops: Easily new collectibles: Not right now different fish: Not right now CA never really designed the game to be easily extendible from the outside, so we're doing the best we can, and not everything is doable yet
I expect anything that's already a mechanic is easy to implement? For example Calico Desert is technically a different area, so it wouldn't be incredibly difficult to create something new using the transport that's already in the game? And new shops with their own sets of stock, that wouldn't be terribly difficult either? Thank you for your response!
No, calico is as far as the game is concerned, just one of many locations, the game is filled with different locations, calico just seems further away because you cant walk there, but every time you have a fade and are suddenly elsewhere, that is you moving from one location to another. As to shops, my AdvancedLocationLoader mod has support for custom shops, the framework for that is already in Stardew, and ALL just exposes it.
why not underground town I am so game for that..or mountain - top ruined town that mayor never speaks about because there be dragons. Wizard sealed away and we have learn magical spells...something they could implicate player or player kids to learn.
