Modding Help Creating food mod!

Hi! I'm very very VERY new to modding, I thought my first mod would be some food items! How would I go about starting this? Is there a guide? What size canvas is needed for food items? I have so many questions, but please let me know how to even get started with this! Thankies (；・∀・)

 

I would download a mod that adds food and look through it to see how its done.
