Crashing after 2-15 minutes gameplay

    The game ran flawlessly for the first 70 hours. Now I'm in winter of year 2 and all of a sudden I've been getting random crashes, usually when I'm at the blacksmith getting geodes processed, at the museum donating, or when I'm in my barn milking the cows.

    This is really strange because the game was perfect before and now its unplayable because I get a crash every time I try to play. I've played the same in-game day over and over and over and I can't get passed it. First it freezes, then the screen turns light blue with dark blue vertical stripes. Then I have to shut down my computer because everything is unresponsive. I'm playing on a brand new MacBook with plenty of storage on steam

    Any help would be appreciated! I emailed stardewvalley@gmail.com about this but never got any response

      I'm having the exact same problem! I'm replying here instead of making my own topic so maybe someone will see and help us.

      It was flawless through year 1. After year 2 started, it would crash before I could even finish a day. Most of the time it crashes so bad I have to restart my entire computer, and other times it shows this crash report:

      Crashed Thread: 0 MainThrd Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread

      Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT)
      Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000
      Exception Note: EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY

      Application Specific Information:
      abort() called

      Application Specific Signatures:
      Graphics hardware encountered an error and was reset: 0x00000813
      I don't know if OP is having the same crash report I am, but I provided it just in case. I also have a 2017 MacBook running on High Sierra 10.13.2.

        Thanks for the reply! We are in this together. Since I posted this, I stopped trying to fix my MacBook and switched to using my friend's PC to play the game, and the problem is fixed. You won't lose any game progress because if you log into Steam it will have it all saved and you can pick up where you left off. I think the only problem is using a MacBook, because they aren't really built for gaming.

        Let me know if this works for you too, hope this helps!
