Bug/Issue Crash when exiting Tech Station window

When I use the Tech upgrade station at the Outpost, it all works fine until I press esc or the X in the corner. Then the game instantly freezes up and crashes. I've changed tech fine before but this has started happening after no significant changes.

I've been able to recreate this multiple times when doing exactly the same thing. Tried uninstalling the game and redownloading and the issue persists, in both fullscreen and windowed. Not running any mods.

On a 2011 Macbook Pro, Intel graphics. Any ideas?
