   BuleCurger Void-Bound Voyager

   While I was playing my game, my section of the house I live in had a split second power outage causing my computer to briefly shut off. Upon returning to the game my save file was gone. How can I recover the files?
   
   Also, my saves have been lost or corrupted more times than I can count, so if anyone could give me a sound method of backing up my saves that'd be great.
