Crafting with pixels

I was wondering how people felt about how the game allows you to use pixels to craft things like decorations and some blocks. I feel like it has potential to be convenient, but right now it feels like there are just too many recipes that just have you burn pixels and nothing else. Almost all of the decorations in the game can only be crafted with pixels. Are there any plans to add actual crafting recipes to some of the items rather than just pouring pixels into everything? It might be a good idea to have both options to craft items from resources and craft from pixels as well.

Furthermore some of these costs are just outrageous. 50 pixels a block is too much. I have been trying to build a room with a background made with Light Metal blocks. I have to burn almost all the ores I can get just to buy a few measly blocks. I really hope they make these blocks more affordable in a future patch. It is dampening my spirits when it comes to building.

from what it sounds like, you are at the start of the game
pixels are hard to get at the beginning of the game, but at the end it is very easy. lvl 10 planets are covered in diamonds, on the surface no less) and each ore gives you 100 pixels
at the endgame, currently, armor and weapons cost no pixels
I agree the price of the blocks is a bit much, should be like 40 or something slightly lower.
how do you think I feel, built a base with a spawn tower, biodome to farm in, large housing complex, and underground military bunker all out of smooth metal
building with those materials is not for the beginning of the game, endgame sure

But should they really be considered endgame materials? They function pretty much the same as any other block, so why should they be so expensive? Furthermore, if they are supposed to be endgame blocks, why do they allow me to craft them so early in the game? Why do i need to go all the way to the end game to expand my options beyond wood and stone?

they are not endgame, they are simply much easier to obtain in the endgame. its technically possible to get large amounts of pixels at the end of t2 (when you can craft them) but it is much easier when you can reach t10 planets
they are expensive because: 1. you can print them ANYWHERE as long as you have pixels and 2. they are mostly for decoration, those are always expensive (for some unknown reason, really people I just want to make my flying priso... ship look evil... I mean nice)

Well, keep in mind that we're still in the alpha/beta stage so there's bound to be LOTS of fine-tuning to come as well as additions. For all we know, what we think is end game stuff now might end up being nowhere near as such later on.

Alright. I will hold off on this subject for now. I guess I haven't played enough of the game to judge the pixel costs.
I do still have one question. Do the crafting options options open up later in the game? I mean like crafting with actual ingredients rather than pixels pixels and more pixels.

the only decorations you get in the end are the ore tiers, and they do not cost pixels to craft. though you cant print them
