Crafting speculations

This picture was revealed on Bartwe's twitch livestream (Thanks Spadow for posting it here). I was already made some guessing about it out here, but.

Now I'm kinda curious about levels of items shown here. What is the purpose?

As I think, all (craftable) items in game has own level. It may affect crafting:
IE, lvl.0-10 can be crafted by hands,
lvl.10-20 - using a simple workbench,
20-30 - in a workshop and so far.
(There was stated that we'll find some workstations in the NPCs villages, I think they will have different levels of crafting).
Obviously, the higher the level of the workstation, the harder it is to get.

There also may be some equipable items which raises your crafting abilities like tool-belts, robo-gloves, nanobots control chip™
(IE: The Famous Goggles of Doing Nothing +1 to Crafting level,+20 to Awesomeness).
These also should be quite rare/hard to get (to not ruin a balance).
And maybe item level affects some other gameplay aspects like item's sell/buy/upgrade price and something else.

p.s. love the name of the "stupid and temporary" crafting screen, with the temporary star map in the background!
p.p.s. look carefully on the right "set bonus" - armour sets confirmed? (no suprises here)
p.p.p.s "can mine radioactive ore without harm" - radioactive ore confirmed? (didn't see this one coming)

Well that weird. If they really wanted to do tiered crafting, there is no difference between level 38 and level 35. What's the point of such detailed levels if 10 of the levels are going to be used by one crafting station?

 

I think it's like borderlands.A level 28 gun would have something more(damage,mods) of a level 20 gun,I guess.

Oh dear Gods, there's going to be loot EVERYWHERE.

 

I'm going to speculate something of my own from what I see in this picture:

It may be that cold/hot planets pose an environmental risk to the player. There is a 20 degree Cold Guard on that suit. So it may be that going onto certain planets unprepared poses more risks that just monsters.

Not exactly. Imagine that you're going into the Apex lab and find some advanced workstation (BigApeReplicator?), and it's able to produce itens up to lvl.37. So you can craft lvl.35 item and cannot craft lvl.38. But if you wear your Handy Shirt of Handyman +3 to Crafting level...

 

Or someone attached a couple of backpack straps to Kirby.
