Crafting, Quest, Mechanic - Learn new things from others, master your crafting

    I was not sure where it would fit in the best, but since its mainly about crafting and gear, i decided that this place would fit.

    The idea is all about learning new things.
    What do i mean?
    For example Humans and Apex both start with Melee crafting, while Novakid starts with Ranged.
    For a ranged player, this would be an advantage.
    So what about the ability to teach things to others?

    Lets say you are a Human and play together with a Novakid. You both would benefit from the crafted things of the other player, but you dont want to meet all the time to get upgrades.
    So, here comes the Idea:
    If you reach the next crafting tier, you can craft a handbook that teaches other players the previous tier (for example T2 enables a T1 handbook in the T1 crafting location).
    But wouldnt it be useless between Apex and Human then? both have melee just with different skins.
    Indeed, thats where the Mechanic idea comes in.
    All weapons you craft are "broken". They dont have their full potential. Each race has something unique that they just cant use yet.

    Human weapon are made to deal maximum harm against fleshy targets. A "fixed" weapon could let a target bleed.
    Apex are scientists. As we have allready seen they like lightning stuff. So their weapons could add a stun effect when they hit.
    Floran are tribal warriors, hunters. So what about the idea that their weapons could have an increased chance to drop hunting-material? Leather, Meat, or other stuff if that comes in.
    Glich are robots. Raw power. So...a knockback effect could fit?
    Hylotl are amphibics with citys down on the oceanfloor. They have access to plants that no one else has, they know poisons that no one else have ever heard of. In short: poison effect on hit that causes a random debuff.
    Avian were seen using powerfull energy weapons, melting through armor and burning the flesh. Basically a Burn effect when they hit.
    Novakid are masters of firearms, they love bullets more than a blade. They could have a chance to score a critical hit, dealing more damage or shooting through a target.

    something like this. but how do you get access to these effects? A player cant teach them to you (from the beginning, but read further). Also, like you may have noticed, it would not be possible to learn the highest tier of crafting from another player. Thats correct. Thats where the Quest fits in.

    In the citys you may find a teacher.
    A Blacksmith from the Glitch, Apex Scientist, Human Engineers...you know...guys who know what they are doing.
    So, with a foreign faction you could learn the crafting recipes through a quest. This quest has different stages, you would need to solve the first quest and learn T1 to start the T2 quest. So no need to search for a questgiver in a dangerous T10 sector.
    BUT: You would need materials from these sectors to solve the quests, so no rushing through all the recipes ;)
    If you are from the same faction, you would learn from the master instead. How to create weapons with their true potential.
    Same system as above, just with a different result.
    To learn these masterys with a foreign faction, you would need to solve a more difficult quest than a native player would need.

    And if you have learned everything, you are a master yourself. You can teach the highest tier to others, you can teach how to unlock the true potential, and maybe...you could unlock a unique armor skin for crafting to show that you are a master.

    And after you are a master?
    You could start quests from your ships ai, research quests. through these quests you could learn new rarity levels or effects. For examply a weapon that combines two faction specific boni, a weapon that looks like one faction but has another factions effect...or simply research a new bullet type.
    (special crafting table, where you can create your weapon like you want, pick the skin, effects, stats etc)

    Another system that could be done through a quest could be the learning of the weapon counterparts
    Learn about your faction specific Ranged Weapons (Melee for Novakid)
    We allready have all most of them in the game i think. As i described above, most of the factions allrady have a unique type.

    Humans have Uzis and other "common" things.
    Apex use the Lighnting Coil, so different version (pistol, sniper, shotgun etc)
    Floran could craft Needlers, Blowguns or something like that
    Glitch have Crossbows, so add more of them, big ones, smal ones, fast ones etc
    Hylotl...i dont know, never seen them
    Avian use their energy rifles
    Novakid again...dont know...
