Hey guys, another suggestion, but this is of course for a side quest. I had an idea where someone sends you out on a fetch quest to some kind of abandoned planet that's in ruins. what you have to find is five different pieces (Subject to change) of an old artifact lost decades ago. when you find all of the pieces, it makes a kind or old radio and it plays a catchy space tune or something. Just an idea! =)
Yeah, it may be bare, FOR NOW!!! I also think it will be awesome for it to be wearable. It kinda reminds me of the song boombox by Lonely Island
It could be like the portal radio. Or it could be an ingame item that lets you play your favorite music from the game whenever you want!
I for one would love it to be able to play actual internet radio stations. Custom music inyour favorite game = Win. Cause lets face it, we'll all be playing this game pretty much till we drop and at some point even the best background music gets boring. This way we could freshen it up ourselves.
I like this idea, the spacetune will be well worth it. I'm one of those people that actually focus on the background music, it gets old sometimes. And I like the part where you have to gather pieces from an old ruin. Will the ruin be randomly generated or pre-made? Randomly generated pieces + ruin will be VERY likely to be bugged, while a pre-made one ruins replay value.
Thanks for the support guys, but I think for the ruins, the easiest way for them to make it I guess would be the kind of dungeons in Terraria (Huge with heaps of rooms in them), but randomly generated rooms, so that every time you find a ruin, it will look similar, but still be different. If you get what I mean...
Haha..cool Idea. Atleast you get something that is fun but isn't the standard xyz type of stuff that makes you more powerfull. Would be cool if there would be some actual Starbound podcasts and radio stations that could also be heared through your radio. Maybe Tiy could be a kind of intergalactic Starbound DJ Or how about an addition about a later questline that also gives you parts and let's you make an mp3 player? So you can wear it and play your own music
How about you be able to put music files in the game so the radio plays it? If possible, even add sound modifiers to make the song sound like its really coming from an old radio, or a LP player. This could be pretty awesome, playing some classical music while building or some hard rock when large PvE base defense events. Play whatever songs the hoster might have tucked in the game files.
Well I like that you like the idea and the mp3 player could be an idea too. instead of having to carry a huge radio on your shoulders like a boombox, you could just make an mp3 player and it would show on your character that you have earphones. =)
