It doesn't seem very balanced that Novakids get to craft guns right off the bat; it seems to me that each race should logically get to craft guns too. But here's the catch; while Novakid weapons would generally be 70% guns and 30% melee, other races would have the reverse, or even different ratios (50-50, for example). Each gun would correspond to the archetype of that race; Apex would have very futuristic weapons while Humans would have more tactical guns to match the design of the Mech, Florans would be able to craft their Needlers or other bio-tech weapons like acid sprayers, etc. while Novakids would stick to the typical western revolver-gatling gun motif.
I think aegisalt and ferozium are going to be used primarily for guns since the Accelerator Table is meant for a marksman playstyle, but I feel like that's a little too far into the game just to be able to start crafting guns. I really do hope that craftable guns will be available as early as the titanium or durasteel tier, with each race having their own aesthetic for the weapons like you said. It wouldn't even have to be anything fancy, just save the cool effects for the randomly generated guns. I also hope that Novakids will get craftable melee weapons, even if it meant just for the Seperator Table. I've always wondered what Novakid styled melee weapons would look like.
well novakids are styled after cowboys, so I assume bowie style knives, tomahawks style axes, cavalry sabres for swords ect. and yeah, i'm still alittle baffled at how the human race can't seem to make any kind of firearms at all, and across the board this kinda seems like it discourages one of the three combat styles the game is supposed to support.
