Yee, we steel haven't heard anything about craft, and we need information about this. Maybe craft system would like to terraria's craft?

i believe they have said, that they would implement crafting to some extent

I think most items will have to be found, but things like torches would have to be craftable.

Yeeeeuuuuuuup,You can craft average stuff like torches and chairs, but for the important stuff like vehicles and weapons, you need blueprints before you can craft them

If I remember correctly, crafting will be handled somewhat similarly to Terraria. Most if not all the things in game can be made by the player but everything but the basic stuff will require equipment that can only be found/used in the engineering lab aboard your space station. Most items will also require schematics acquired by NPCs or through research.

I think it's kinda like the Dead Island crafting system, you need the blueprint to make the special items.

I think the crafting system should be a lot like terraria

It's not gonna really be like terrarias. For the basic stuff (torches, tier 1 swords, etc.) but for the mechs and stuff, you'd need blue prints, and then you can make them. But most stuff you'll have too find or get from side quests.

You'll have to gain the crafting information from NPC's as far as I am concerned nad also get the materials from them. I remember something being said about a tool that scans an animal / npc or whatever that tells you if it has any valuable material on it or if it has any recipe.
I.e, if aliens existed IRL, they would have some kind of guide to build a space box for example. Your player has to get it from them, either by killing them or getting to know it by trading / talking with them?

I do believe that we will just give blueprints for something like a land mine and a big machine makes some working sounds and we have got a disaster waiting to happen on the other side :p

    A.N.T.I. Spaceman Spiff

To be honest, I don't think crafting will be like terraria, but maybe something more like... I don't know skyrim? Where you interact with objects to see what you can make rather then just walking up to them with your inventory open, but maybe I be wrong :/

I believe complex crafting requires you to be on the space station, while simple crafting, like torches and whatnot, can be crafted on land. I don't think you can simply find a mecha lying around in a jungle... that often.

Considering that you would need blueprints to create the more complex objects, I think it would be interesting if you could somehow reverse engineer an object to learn how it is designed and aqcuire a blueprint too, but at the cost of the object. Say you do find an abandoned mecha in the jungle like Ted Gu says, have your crew come down and take it to the space station, and then comes the hard decision: Repair it and start conquering planets on your new destruction machine, or sacrifice it to learn how to make an army of them only to find out that it requires large amounts of difficult to obtain materials?

Of course a downside to reverse engineering would be the fact that then something that you obtained and that is deemed as very rare or even unique becomes less special because you can now make an unlimited amount of them.

I hope they implement blueprints creatively. I don't want to be finding hover car blueprints in the middle of a cave 1000 feet under the ground.
