Could this crazy idea work in Starbound? Post your thoughts

Just thought I'd post this in general, because I think it could spur discussion, whether you read and like the idea or not, I'd hope to hear what you all think. Thanks in advance.

Imagine this, to go along with the Flesh Biome update:

Picking up a quest, where an NPC tells you of a "World Eater" which is slowly chewing its way through a star cluster and wiping out civilizations, which the "World Eater" itself is a Living (Flesh) Planet. The NPC quest giver is part of a Military task force similar (a nod to) the 'Starship Troopers', and the recruiter has been tasked with recruiting individuals to try and kill it from within. You are chosen. You're told that it's a dangerous journey filled with peril, and a bleak chance of surviving let alone killing the World Eater itself. But it's for the greater good of the sentient beings that exist in the star cluster and breaking out into the galaxy, with a nasty ultimatum... Survival against all odds, or be wiped out.

[Some crazy thoughts before I get back into the idea, this could very well be a final game boss reserved for hard difficulties, it could lurk around during a players game and then at some point as the player starts progressing through the stars around mid-late game or perhaps based on a large number of stars visited and interacted with... it could start wiping out planets and civilisations one by one and eventually be unstoppable/unavoidable -- much like the Antarans in Master of Orion 2: Battle at Antares, or the Reapers in Mass Effect. Could give the game a bit of that sort of sense of urgency feeling.]

You're given the co-ordinates for it, orbit it with your ship, and from space you can notice the planet itself is indeed living, and is a monstrosity that needs to die. You teleport onto the surface within a bastion of the Military Force which is attacked often by parasitic creatures that live on the surface of the World Eater planet, and has stretched the army thin - making them focus more on defense and less on attack - alongside the high mortality rate of the recruits that have gone in.

A chain quest starts, in which you are tasked with completing certain objectives around the planet which:
    >Gather/build resources for the Military Task Force to help them ward off the parasites,
    >Take out vital organs of the "World Eater",
    >Chip away at the defenses of the creature to expose weak points which will eventually lead to large orbiting battleships attack and destroy the "World Eater" (much like the Death Star being destroyed in Star Wars by the Rebel Army X-Wings) the creature in a heavily weakened state,

And then finally at the end of the chain you get into the interior of the World Eater (In a Living Flesh Dungeon of sorts, similar to The Stick Of Truth where the player enters Mr Slave *but obviously less intentionally disgusting*) and descend deep within the creature rescuing lost and/or trapped troops along the way - all the while having to deal with it's immune system and bodily fluids such as stomach acid, and then have to fight a rather epic boss (Because why not).

This would be pretty epic, and better as developed by Chucklefish rather than a mod. No offense intended, modders!

Would anyone else agree that this would be awesome?

The game has a world eater thing sort of, already. If there was going to be a military task force then it would most likely be comprised of USCM soldiers. Otherwise this could be a good plot for the final boss if they make the giant weird tentacle asteroid the boss, where USCM want to retake earth for the humans, or maybe instead of retaking it just blowing it up to kill the monster so it cant spread. Either way could work out well.
