Sometimes you find a really cool weapon. Sometimes you end up really liking it, it looks awesome to you. One problem though...it ain't dealing the damage after awhile. Seems like a real bummer to me, and it's a constant disappointment I've seen in almost every game I've touched. Google gave me no results on this subject besides a single topic with no replies, so I thought I'd try bringing this up again. That said, it sure would be nice to be able to keep a certain weapons look, maybe make it possible to improve it's condition using an anvil so it matches up with higher-tiers? Maybe this is better off as a mod, I'm not sure where this suggestion is better left. I really like The Paddle is my reason...
this one time I found a crimson sword with a black starpattern hilt. it looked awesome, but when I hit the beta sector it didn't do JACK! so yeah, I approve of this post
I would sugest simple adding a cosmetic slot into weaposn, wich you could fill with the sprite of another weapon, making it look like that. Like cosmetic armour,it doesent afect stats, its just displayed difrentlyin this case,in the weapon.
The inventory UI does have two spots for such a thing, as there's two empty spaces between the inventory tabs and the "Send to trash" box. That's unless they don't mind re-working the whole UI to fit that. The only conflict I see with such a thing is what may happen if you use a two-handed weapon.
To be fair,we are still in Alpha and I dont realy believe they would have to REWRITE EVERYTHING in the UI,coudnt they simply add a new tab related to cosmetic efects, just like the loot and building blocks already have one?
This reminds me of that thing in Diablo 3, Transmogrification(?) Personally, I would love something like that in-game. Although a "vanity slot" for weapons is nice too. On-topic on the Transmog, it would be some sort of mechanical work station like the robot crafting table. That could work as a mod too, though.
If I remember correctly, it was originally from WoW and Blizzard implemented it into D3. As for the Transmog, once you identify legendary/set items, you can borrow that specific item's look and use it for your current weapon. Of course the item you transmog'd won't be destroyed.
Shields with stats...wow why didn't I notice that sooner? It's almost completely arbitrary how useful they are, no real indicator of how much damage they block.
Shield Health Regen Time Block Recovery (how long it takes to recover from an attack {may depend on what weapons hit you [ex: two handed weapon takes more time to recover]}) Explosion Protection Projectile Protection (shield doesn't lose health from projectiles) Projectile Absorption (whether its health or energy) Projectile Deflection Projectile Reflection Counterattack Time AND MANY MORE!!!!!!
Hmm...Shields with states and being able to keep a weapon look that you like.....I like this...I like this a lot...someone ether make a mod for this or get this implemented into the game please...things like this make me wish I knew how to do this stuff lol.
