Continue with our characters?

    In order to experience things from the new patch, can we continue with our current characters and just go to a new planet or are there things we literally need a brand new character to experience?

    You could if you delete your universe folder, but ideally you're better off making a new character.

    Yes - It will. But keep in mind that planets are shared among your characters.
