The results have been announced, for the people who don't click on 'home' very often.
Congrats to all the winners, though I didn't win. Aw. (even though I personally thought my entry was quite good, )

 

Congratz winners! And even congratz to the people who didn't quite make it because trust me, there were some very hard choices being made and so many of the entries were great! It was difficult to choose. We really enjoyed them.

Congratulations to everyone! While being sad that I wasn't chosen (I was really bad lmao), I am in fact very happy that the Devs chose the entries that would fit into the game perfectly. There were some really good ideas amongst them and I am excitedly looking forward to see them in the game!
In the end, all I can say is that this was a great contest with a great outcome! Thank you, Chucklefish and thank you, community!

 

When I saw the virorbs, I FELL IN LOVE WITH THEM. Those little things look EPIK! And the poptop looks really cool too. And the mindwurms. Wow, this game is gonna be so good.

Well, Poptop came out of no where, I had my money on the Virorbs But at least they made it in regardless. I didn't really expect to win but I was confident enough in my entry to at least be a runner up (turns out I didn't even get an honorable mention ) But enough of my shattered ego, this is for the other designers that caught the devs' multitude of eyes:

How the Stickman from Breather didn't win? Not even a honorable mention? This contest was manipulated.

Kidding, congrats to all winners. I was really surprised that the Poptops winned.

 

Same. Being in the top 10 popularity-wise was, I thought, good enough, combined with the actual good-ness of my entry. Though I think, while they said 'artistic ability won't matter' they mainly decided based on artistic ability.

 

I would say their opinions were swayed towards the more cultivated ideas, the ones with pages of text and at least five pictures. Although now that i think about it, my idea was basically 'a rock that jumps at you', so i probably should've thought of a better one...
The winners' entries were all great ideas though. c:

 

Which I did have...I had a wall of text and twenty pictures.
(And personally think my entry was quite a bit better than some of the honorable mentions, but that is my opinion. I think the devs were mostly looking for pixel art, as well.)

I think the same about that,especially with no honorable mention about my creatures.

Right,a cheap looks alike of a pokemon was choosen as creative,but the other follow-ups are pretty creative I must say.

Which is kinda hipocritical if you ask me. Maybe they wanted to speed-up the process and they add the Artistic ability criteria.

No free game for me,better be at a reasonable price then.

 

I am happy with the results overall...they chose the right entrees...and I can imagine it being a tough choice...I mean, there were 600+ entries, DAAAAAMN!

 

I think they did; I've only seen any of the developers judge anything TODAY. Oh well; I certainly hope there'll be another contest where artistic ability ACTUALLY IS NOT COUNTED (and they did do it on artistic ability as a category, they talked about 'nice sprites')
