Confusion about beta...

Is a beta basically the full game but not or does it have a LOT less content then the full game? I'm getting confused because a bunch of people are saying both. Any chance we could see the beta release either this month or next month? Sorry for asking about beta release. For some reason I act like it's against the law to ask about beta release.

 

Hello there. IIRC, I believe Chucklefish wanted almost a complete game before releasing the beta (i.e. only the main story quests not implemented). I'm only going off of memory so I apologize if my info is wrong or outdated, or both. I think it's very possible for a beta to be released within a month or so or at least announced. In any case, there's a dedicated thread for anything beta/release date where this would be more appropriate. As it looks now...no beta for awhile sadly.
Im scared to say it might come late december or might even

Boy, whats so difficult to understand for tiy/chucklefish? we want the game now. we know its in pre-alpha-beta-whatever, its full of bugs, many things are not yet implemented etc etc etc.

who cares?

minecraft was full of bugs but everybody loved it still, b/c it was clear it was in alpha/beta.

TIY, if you read this:
Get the game out to pre-order-customers!
WE KNOW ITS FULL OF BUGS. WE DONT CARE! WE WANT TO PLAY/TEST THE GAME! FOLLOW minecrafts EXAMPLE!

Also, there are many more reasonable people don't really mind when the beta comes out as long as it's this year.
Personally it could come out on doomsday and I wouldn't care.

I think you should be a bit more grateful. Chucklefish don't want to release an extremely buggy game, in a way I agree with you, but in most ways I don't. Actually, maybe they should. 7 Days To Die has released the alpha version of the game and it looks amazing. Oh I don't know! I think they should but it is their choice and I do understand why they don't. I can't make up my mind. I'm just going to say, I think they should, and I think they shouldn't.

So, may be this thought haven't ever stroke your mind, BUT:
Devs are going to releae beta NOT FOR US TO PLAY IT, but rather to hunt and stomp the bugs. So they will release it when they believe this process will be most efficient, as it is pointless to hunt bugs while still adding new featurs to the game. Live with it, stop crying for a beta.
