I've been on these forums since it has come out and have been stalking the game since even before then.
I can easily wait a measly few more months or whatever it is for the game to come out.

 

I don't know why people are getting their hopes up for a Q1 2013 release. Let's not make this like the Terraria forums a month before 1.1 was released. I'd rather not have to shift through 3 pages of "WTH WHY ISNT THIS OUT YET?!" threads because people get their hopes up.

I saw the leaked raw footage before it was taken down about 2 months ago... It was a game in very early alpha stages with many features missing or disabled. We still don't have a official combat trailer, and in the raw footage they had combat disabled because it wasn't ready. Don't want to be a negative nancy, but i'm going to say Q3 2013 at the earliest. They still have core aspects of the game that are unfinished, after they get all that finished they will still have 2-3 months of adding content, followed by another 2-3 months of internal beta testing.

We have a long ways to go yet, i'm afraid.

Tiy has already said that the game is in a playable state, plus the game is already in a closed beta. Combat seems to be the only core aspect of the game that is unfinished, and then they have to work on NPCs, quests, etc. And they're already implementing other content, such as farming and cooking. I think Q3 2013 would be pretty late; I would guess the game will be released in 1-4 months. But I'm willing to wait until Q3 2013.

Hope it gets released in February so I can get it with Animaniacs Volume 4. That would be great.

 

We all know Starbound will be released when Half Life 2 episode 3 comes out!

 

While I would love for the game to be released as early as February, the last time they showed it off, it did look like something that was probably going to get another four or five months of development.

But then again, I'm not a developer and don't know so hopefully the optimistic predictions come true. Or atleast the start of some sort of beta.

 

So long as they (the dev's) are not on STEAM time.... Then I'm good to wait.

If they are on steam time... we may never see it ....

 

Im just hopeing for a beta...or something xD maybe a preorder thing? hell I would take anything. but I think that mid jan is a good time!
