Computer freeze after switching from fullscreen to windowed

Error: Computer freezes and requires manual off/on again restart upon trying to switch game from fullscreen mode to windowed mode.

Have not tested repeatability

System: Ubuntu 15.04 Wiley 64bit, 12gb ram. Had screen projected to external monitor at the time.

I'm on my mac laptop and was bummed that I couldn't change the resolution and tried to switch from the default of "windowed borderless" to fullscreen and it crashed. I also had to manually restart; did the same thing and it crashed again.

 

Having the same problem, the resolution is painful on my 13" Macbook Pro, and the resolution is locked in Windowed/Borderless mode

Just checking - your entire computer locked up, not just the game?

What's your graphics card? Are your drivers up to date?

 

The computer locked up mostly. The mouse would still move and there was still sound, but it would not respond to any clicking. The game window did resize, but after that it was frozen. I could get into the full screen terminal and interact there, but the GUI was frozen.

I misstated my OS number as 15.04, its actually Ubuntu 15.10.
My graphics card is:

Intel HD Graphics 4400

The graphics driver is likely not the latest version as updating the kernel would be annoying. The kernel version is the stock that came in the 15.10 package.
Here is my uname -a output (minus my computer name):

Program began to hang for me on Mac. Had to force quit, no other inputs were registering.
