Loot is already randomized... to a degree. You can share coordinates online and say; "hey, there's a legendary handgun 20 seconds left of spawn", but that's as descriptive of the item as you can get. Anyone going to that planet will find a legendary handgun, but the handgun itself will be randomized in terms of damage, effect, appearance, speed, etcetera. This is not what I mean. What I mean by complete loot randomization is that instead of finding a legendary handgun, you could find ANYTHING, from a crappy sword to a legendary item of any type. This would apply to boss drops found on the planet and items obtained from merchants as well. I have heard some people wish to remove the ability to share coordinates by scrambling the seed of planets for each individual player. I think this is a disgusting idea, absolutely horrible. The ability to explore planets in a galaxy that is shared with every other user of the game is beautiful, it adds value to finding a planet that is actually significant. Sadly, they are used more as cheat codes rather than any coordinates shared simply to praise the planet itself. Instead of "Wow, check out this beautiful planet. I'm sending you the coordinates.", the general use for this feature is "You can get X item if you enter these coords". I feel that this cheapens the feature and makes users who would otherwise use it for legitimate causes feel guilty. I believe that if remove the factor of loot being determined by a planets coordinates we can eliminate the issue while still preserving (and maybe even enhancing) the beauty behind a galaxy that's shared by everyone. Should this be implemented, there are still a couple things to consider. Tech chests, for example, would still contain a technique no matter what. This can be avoided as an issue by making tech chests randomly generated in place of normals, on planets some users will find tech chests where others found an old one. Ore is not a primary concern, but the sharing of coordinates for ore is a slight factor and could be circumvented by adding randomization to ore generation as well. I see little reason to bother with this end of it, however, as it's not really a big deal. The next time I go into a coordinates sharing thread, I would like to see planets being admired and cherished, rather than being treated like quick fucks for the next legendary item and users going through them like a cross-off list. I want to see people who previously censured this feature and condemned its users as cheaters happily participating and the sharing of coordinates as well. To me, that would make this galaxy seem like a better place, don't you agree?
