    They also mentioned this numeous times when explaining why was the beta not released earlier - they said that some of the changes they were making to the game would require constant resets of the generated universe and a new character nearly each time an update was made.

    It's a common misconception. You did not pre-order a beta. You pre-ordered a full release game and the beta access is a bonus and chance to help shape the game into greatness.

    Why completely get rid of the 100 Level system and armour penetration of weapons? Surely you could make them hidden values? And convert them visually, if you gave player a level, you could check the difference in levels to give a difficulty rating easy-very hard. It also seems that some monsters would wear armoured items.

    It seems very much like youre simplifying the game rather than putting in visual cues to make it easier to see what is going on.

    It just starts to sound concerning when progression with regards to monster difficulty is so smooth, I think this completely ruins the point of the game being "random" it shouldn't be that clean. Planets should be of random difficulty and a complete surprise to the player in my opinion. Giving it the same linear progression and difficulty system as Terraria is definitely not a good route to take... When this game was first spoke of, so much emphasis was on "procedural generation" we should be moving from planet to planet looking for the best we can find to suit our capability at the time. Which is why some of us have suggested the idea of Captains Log/Mission Log in which we can note down information about planets with have visited until we settle on which one is safe enough for us to mine/home.

    All I'm seeing now is a choice of freedom but there is a set trail of breadcrumbs leading us the way to progression rather than just letting us discover our own routes.

    Beta means testing.
    Testing means check for bugs, errors, but not to progress or even enjoy the game itself.

    But, why to the public, why not just to test it in the internal team?
    It's like "hey guys! we've almost finished the game, lets check everyone if there's something we don't like or just need to be changed / added", but not like "hey guys! lets play the game, its out!" because it's not "out".

    As a game developer I can understand the need of wipe all data. Actually is much easier to wipe all the data on every update. We can't complain about it, and if we are part of this beta it is for testing, just remember that.
    So this is not the game, this is the beta, we must deal with it.
    Do you eat the cake before it is cooked or just taste it to see if it's ready? Yeah I know you don't have to cook the cake over again if you taste it, but it's just an example.

    I hope that this big update will also include:
    1. Better AI (they get stuck in holes easily)
    2. More balanced armor (snow soldier armor has to much defense and copper to little)
    3. Ability to aim melee the attacks to other directions not just in front of the char
    4. Optimize the game for us players with weaker PC (I got lag in fights and when I use ship beam I wasn't trying to move to another planet because it would end by who know what)
    And for people with XP issues somebody solved it for most the people just move this file into win32 file in Starbound folder.

    Woops. that was a misclick. I meant to quote the post above yours. The guy that was saying "how dare they!". I agree with your post, humans are definitely the most lacking in the lore department. Defenitely need more lore surrounding the sky pirates too, who seem to be primarily human.

    I do like this idea, and I get your point, but I think there are more negatives to this approach than positives. For example, if all planets were random, you might end up taking an unreasonable amount of time to find one suitable to your specific 'level'. This would cause a lot of frustration, and a lack of focus on where to go. Even if the planets were labeled by level like they are now you would just not fly to anywhere unless it was at your level, so why not group them together anyway. Not to mention getting fuel, what if you find a chain of high level planets in a row? You would have to go through them hoping you don't get one shot over and over while you try and get enough fuel to find a planet your level.

    I also am O.K. with betta state (they also mentioned that there will be lots of save loses "DON'T GET ATTACHED TO YOUR CHARACTERS" they said before beta).
    Now i can try different race everytime my save goes to trash bin, and guys don't complain the amount of content in the beta is a lot more than other betas have in "steam early access".

    Awesome game all the way and it's going to get even awesomer with every update :D

    For me, also would have to change the system of Boss. When we call a boss, we would have to carry a map, clean, and that the build option is disabled. For the fight with the boss, just be a matter of skill.

    Because, as it stands now, most users will abuse the little AI boss, and enclosing block or manage to remaining bug, and so we can kill them easily.

    I don't mind the devs taking their time making the updates, especially not if they fix the 3D-printer. It would be a usefull tool to have, and would mean my pixels aren't useless untill I find a spawner. Especially since I am always worried I'll use up too much materials in contruction.

    Also an option to delete characters would be nice, it's probably possible by digging into the files and deleting them that way, but an option in the character select menu would be nice.

    1. Admin Commands for the Server!!!
    2. New Content (We are at itemlevel 41 right now...)
    3. Bigger Ships
    4. Serverside Characters!!!

    What about the worlds/servers? Will they be affected or is it limited to the characters themselves?

    I don't mind character wipes, I have too much stuff as is, will be a great excuse to start over and only stick with things needed to progress and see what's beyond sector A xD

    The armor system isn't the problem it's good and works well with the mechanics of the game the problem is the penetration system that just adds unnecessary confusion and difficulty to the system

    The 3d Printer produces (scanned) decorations. Not sure how it's broken in that respect.

    I meant for the time being. Anyway yeah clearly some changes can be made but its still very early, So please, instead of noting the negatives in my comment perhaps you should look at my whole post instead of trolling?

    The Character is your single player universe, No Character no more universe.
    Not to sure how it would work with server universes, But it is safe to say the server universe would be incompatible if not wiped in the update.

    Has anyone noticed that when you put on armor the stats on the side of the inventory does NOT show that correct amount of armor that you have. For example, you start out with normal clothes and they will both give you 2 armor, but on the stats it will only say 3.
