    I appreciate the idea, but I was kind of digging the difficulty, actually... One thing that's been bugging me, does anyone know when/if identifying/discovering monster species will be implemented? I was looking forward to that.

    The reason why they do not fix performance when there are gameplay issues to be resolved is because when you change one thing in a game, no matter how small. It can have performance issues on other parts of the code.
    If they fix performance first, then go change gameplay and it breaks performance again, that is wasted time.
    Might as well get the game finished first and then fix performance, once, and for all.

    This from someone who has their game of SB crash very often. SO i know how you feel waiting for this. But Chuckle has most of our best interests in mind.

    Sounds interesting. The balance of things post-Alpha sector really do need help.

    Also, is there any chance we can get some craftable guns/ranged weapons? Trying to take down the UFO boss with nothing more then an Iron Bow while doable is both far too time consuming and frankly rather silly.

    I agree with this here.
    I thought there would be many more people disagreeing with 10 level scale.
    I personally like the idea of having a large planetary scale 1-100, it makes it seem like a much higher point to reach., and gives each planet in the sectors more diversity.
    Think of it in other MMO terms. World oif warcraft will soon have level 100. I loved progressing through level 1-90, if they kept the content the same, and the amount of experience needed and just had the levels cut down to 10 im sure you would have a large amount of the playerbase unhappy there too.,

    I just like high numbers and the feel of difficulty they have.

    Aye, even if they go completely with the new system, id prefer a "Danger Level" of the planet to be scaled from 1-100 even if it didnt have any direct math input into the stats of the creatures on it.

    I personally am glad they're trying to change the combat system. As it is pre-patch, the progression curve is simply too arbitrary and severe to offer any real incentive to explore planets. I'm hoping that having a more gradual curve will allow for more number tweaks and less 1-hit kills for both AI and players.

    It's funny that I see this said by pretty much everybody who disagrees with the new upcoming changes. Going by this logic, you all should disagree with the current system as the HP of pretty much everything is maxed out at 100, instead of being able to go higher as it will be in the update. Everything having the same exact HP is not diverse at all.

    Also, as Tiy said, it only changes the FUNCTIONS, nothing else. Things aren't getting shrunk down, the math is simply being changed around a bit to make things more balanced. And of course, nobody knows if it will actually be better, good thing it's a beta so if it sucks they can change it again. Atleast wait till you actually try out the new system before trying to say the old one is better.

    I would like to see the various windows such as crafting and inventory stay where you put them. It's annoying to need to build something and its in the center blocking your view every time you open it.

    I agree with a lot of people saying reducing the level count is not good. When I look at a planets level I can understand exactly what to expect. Simplifying these to easy, medium, hard per sector will greatly reduce perception of difficulty, counteracting the effect you are trying to get from simplifying the damage system.

    As another point I think planet descriptions should have more details, like size and perhaps races that might* be residing on it.

    And also most important thing to me :D, I would like to know if we can still use the older version planet maps or the spaceship map after the character reset. Like replacing the new characters ship map with the old characters, would it work?

    I do disagree with 100 hp everything. They should be making changes, but from 100 to 10, even if the content remains the same, the perception of how much content does.
    Like if the next gen pokemon games suddenly made max level 10 instead of a hundred and kept the concept the same. Im sure thered be more than a few unhappy customers

    People arent saying the new damage system is bad, they are just saying that simplifying those thread levels will affect the feeling of progression we get also simply saying a planet is medium or easy hardly provides a better idea of what to expect from saying its a level 7 or 3

    It is exactly the same way right now lol. You look at the planet levels, say tier 1 levels 1-10. If you have level 1 gear, you know that level 1-3 will be easy, 4-6 will be medium, and 7-10 will be hard. If anything, perception of difficulty will be EASIER.

    The level of accomplishment will still be diminished. As humans we have higher numbers ingrained into us as having more significance. Id personally love bragging i beat a level 100 planet on hard with my friends, rather than saying i beat a level 10 on hard with my friends.

    Even if the planet level and difficulty names change, id still think a good comprimise is to keep a "threat level" of the original scale in place, so there is an illusion of difficulty

    Honestly, I haven't found the current system to be too confusing, but the new one sounds great! Definitely better. :) Looking forward to it!

    Also looking forward to the character reset, lol. Really wishing I had chosen Floran, but have become so attached to my current character, lol. :rofl:

    If at this point, all we're fighting for is the "illusion" of difficulty by comparison, it's only inevitable that if the 10 level system works out that people will just get over it.
