Please nerf the snow infantry armour. It's better then silver and gold and is really easy to get early on. It's way to op and does the early game easier making you want to explore higher level planets witout the weapons neccecary.

i like the changes you have planned for the game, maybe make it easier to find a gun? I've played several plants from threat 1 to 10, cleared out two prisons and have not found a one. i ended up taking down the penguins summoned by the beacon with an iron bow.

Are you sure its better than gold? I thought gold was 15, snow is 13

I still can't understand why a reset is needed because you're adding a new sector. Like, (modding talk), just add the recipe for the Sector X boss, and then killing it will get you the Delta Sector Starmap Upgrade.

For me I actually love the complexity of the game at this point, the only thing I don't like is the progression flow. Jumping from 5 to 10 to 15 and so on is makes it feel a little empty in between. More grades of armor in between like there is for weapons would be nice cause at this point the only thing that tells what level you are at is the weapons. Also If I can get a level 35 armor and still get killed by mobs at a threat 10 planet shouldn't really happen, makes me feel like I haven't progressed at all (atleast for me). I would rather the armor complexity and the hundred level mobs stay, that is one of the reasons I left WOW was the nerfing of the difficulty (not to say I am going to not play this). I don't know its just my opinion.

There reseting everything cause they are changing the level system which would mean that your characters armor and weapon would not work in the new patch.

They're not just adding a sector, they're completely revamping the damage and leveling system. Which is quite obvious will require a wipe.

I like this update but I also think that armor pen should stay but have it so that its only allowes damage to go through the armor (if any) and if there is no armor then the stat is now no longer used for said fight. also have how mutch damage that can go through the armor be cut buy -1 for every 1 armor and have it so that every 1 armor pen u get -1 of your damage blocked from armor (exp 1: said enemy has 10 armor your wepon has 0 armor pen and does 33 damge so u would only 23 dmge in this case but add 5 armor pen and now u would do 28 damge. exp 2: the enemy has 0 armor and your wepon does 33 dmge you would hit for 33 damge now say the still have 0 armor but u now have a wepon with 5 pen and 33 damge you would still do 33 damge) that's how the system should work in my opinion

This is great news, me and my buddy did not see the armor penetration value until we hit early Delta sector, we saw this wile killing the homemade robot, that the weapon we used had 38 damage and 5 armor pen did 3 dmg to this boss, while a sword whit 25 dmg had far better armorpen and did much more dmg. after knowing this, things got allot easier but we failed hard on the princess bate xD . anyways, would love to see how this balancing will work out as i found this game to be hard but extremely fun at the same time, hope the difficulty stays ;)

Guys, guys, calm down! Tiy explained clearly, that they won't balance on "armor penetration" any more. That means: Monster will have a greater variety of stats than before. For example, (very simplified) before you had something like this: Every monster on one level (in one sector) had basicly the same strength, only varied in small amounts. The new balancing seems to have a greater variety in strength and HP, because it is not based on a single value any more.

I understood that the difficulty labels (easy, medium, hard) are not like the tier levels before, but just simple notifiers for a bigger range of stat variety, so monster stats won't be based on the difficulty labels but the other way around. Monsters are created with their stats and are then categorized by them. Like all monsters with a health value between 50 and 100 are marked as easy, and so on. There is also the possibility that the difficulty labels are dynamically set by comparison with your own stats.

That is just what I understood, though and although I have quite some knowledge of game design I can be mistaken.

They could then wipe all the weapons, Because I don't feel like losing my Durasteel Armor after 12 hours mining :p
If they can't, oh well, here we go again.

In regard to the equipment/difficulty system, the real concerns do need to be focused on functional progression, but also equally in instilling the player with a feeling of progression, because not all players will want to learn the mathematics behind mechanics to see if something is better.

As far as the proposed update goes, I think the naming system isn't well thought out. If I told you about a game and said it only had 10 levels, you'd think it was short. Then if I told you that each level was massive, you'd think that was odd. Equally it's difficult get a feeling of where you are in the games progression: "I'm a level 3 easy" just sounds weird. Then there's the issue of moving sector. Hopefully 1-hard enemies are weaker than 2-easy. But there's the rub - you are asking the player to take a psychological step down. 'Easy' should mean easy, but they'll be harder than what was previously 'hard'. Not an issue with the mechanics necessarily, but it doesn't sound right. Maybe consider 30 levels? (10 x 3(easy, medium, hard))

The equipment system needs work too, because in order to keep testing, we do need a balancing pass over the whole thing. I've given it a bit of thought and I think the equipment to get you through the tiers should be:

    Each Tier should have:
    • Early-tier armour recipes (somewhere at tierStart + 2 level)
    • Mid-tier weapon and armour recipes (weapons at uncommon rarity)
    • End-tier weapon and armour recipes (weapons at uncommon rarity)

The balancing of equipment, (regardless of system) needs to make sense as far as rarities are concerned, to that end:

Take a common weapon as a baseline - this weapon should take 2-3 hits to kill a normal monster of its level
An uncommon weapon should be comparable in effectiveness to a LvL+1 common weapon
A rare weapon should be comparable to a common weapon at LvL+2 (in addition to its special abilities)
A legendary weapon should be comparable to a common weapon at LvL+3 (in addition to its special abilities)

This serves to blur the level lines a bit, which allows you to keep using equipment for longer.

So the way my tier system would work is:

Player arrives in tier with the high-end equipment from previous tier.(taking starter equipment as tier 0)
    Player gathers new resources
Player crafts the newly available armour.
Player adventures and acquires better weaponry from the lower end of the tier
    Player crafts the Mid-tier equipment
Player moves mid-high range of the tier, gathers equipment
    Player crafts the High-end equipment
(optional) player continues to explore, gaining rarer high-end equipment
    Player Fights Boss
Player advances to the next tier.

Right, I'll let you all disagree with me now.

You misunderstood me completely. I never said planets will be labeled in difficulty. I said there won't be easy medium and hard planets. I said the difficulty will be the same in every planet within each sector.

You also misunderstood me completely. Monster difficulty will still depend on planet "levels," and each planet will still have a "level," it's just that nothing will be explicitly told to you except the difficulty categories that the monsters fall in.

When Tiy said he was simplifying the system, he meant he was making it easier to understand. This was mostly due to the confusion about armor penetration and damage itself.

Love the game. I htink you guys should go with the armor/dps system like how Fallout implements it. The mods just made it more better. Check out Project Nevada for example.

Like, it's a beta. You shouldn't even expect it to be playable at all.

Hello, I have some thoughts and problems. problem one can not go full screen not sure why. and for thoughts I think u should add a text line (market planet) for the planets so u know which ones u have been to and what not, if they have one already i have yet to find it lol. that is all for now lol. great job tho.

This is an early beta. You have to remember that they warned from the start that there would be resets and that you shouldn't get attached to your character. So I've been going in with different characters and exploring different worlds and recording their co-ordinates for later exploration. For example, I discovered a world that while limited on surface resources I discovered there was an abundance of iron, copper, silver, coal and the occasional pocket of gold in a level that was filled with tar blocks, fine sand and gravel. Within the hour I had just over 200 iron and copper bars, 50 silver and about 10 gold, Not to mention 600 coal.

Now unless these updates change the planet generation I'll hopefully be able to go back to that world when it progresses to a stage when there are no more character resets and go mining to my hears content. if not, oh well, I'm still having fun exploring.

For those of you who don't get this, you really needed to have read the warnings more carefully.

Also is it me or are the Florians really hostile to Hylotls. I found a Florian Village and they kept threatening to eat my Hylotl, calling it slimy fish and just general exclamations of disgust and hostility. :p
