    Does anyone how many more of these char wipes we could expect? I love the game but I rather just wait till i know there will be no additional wipes.

    I have to post just to say I'm pretty amazed, not just by the game (it's great btw) but by how well you designed it. LIstening to you talk about making fundamental changes to the underlying structure in days, not weeks or months. Well it's a testament to great software design.

    Think of it like this. There will be three levels of difficulty, so Alpha Sector will have level 1, 2, and 3. Beta will have 2, 3, 4, and so on. X will have 10, 11, 12. That is how I read the changes. I don't remember if I read the difficulty is per mob or per planet. I do hope the rewards scale, but there is already a lot lacking from drops across the board. I'd rather they update the canisters, as getting 6 pixels each has made me ignore them unless I can get a bunch in a single swing.

    Sadly, for the current system to work, there will need to be 2-3 sets of armor per tier. One at the 3 mark (3, 13, 23, etc.) and another at the 8 mark and a possible 5 mark armor set. This is a lot of equipment to put in at this time. Could use placeholders, but how to handle the production of the gear? So many grey ores already, silver, platinum, titanium, that telling them apart is too much work, and such a system would require more metals to fill in the new requirements. Weapons have plenty of range, so aside from trying to find a good weapon that isn't a major concern with the current system.

    I know I maybe creating a hyperbole here, but the point stands if you want an immediate change to the system to better the curve, you can't just generate all the needed content in quick order. It takes time.

    I hate character resets,but...this time it's a good thing.
    Oh,game is just awesome. Can't wait for another patch.

    With the removal of the 100 lvl system, I hope they eventually included some kind of unknown into it. Like you don't know how difficult planets are until you are in the solar system. So from the Sector map have unexplored systems/worlds as ??? instead of showing all easy/med/hard.

    I think something along that line with make up for knowing how hard each planet is.

    the static items such as bombs and throwing stars, maybe make it so you can upgrade them or something or even craft different quality ones with different materials after you find the recipe. i dont see any way to successfully balance a static item such as that without tiers since we don't have "levels" of our own.

    I understand that simplification is part of the design process, but I feel that removing the current system will dramatically dumb the game down, and in the end lessen the freedom the player has.

    While I see where you are coming from and not trying to sound rude, we also use what we can get, not all of us can get/afford the brand new OS when we want to we make do with what we got.

    XP is one of the major operating systems. It is still supported with updates from Microsoft, until next year. China is trying to get Microsoft to keep supporting it, so that they don't have to update their pirating software (citizens and government alike pirate it - you'd be hard pressed to find a store that sells an actual legitimate copy over a $3 burned disc.) As such, it is too big of a market to write off, and the content is not made by Bartwe, who is working on the xp problem. These level changes will likely be made by Tiy or Kyren.

    Also the game was made with DirectX 9 support, which is supported on XP, so there shouldn't be a problem.

    man honestly, I would play it and try to enjoy it since you paid for the early beta access. However, if you are not in the mood for character resets every week to two weeks, then I would wait until they get to a more stable part of the beta which I'm sure they will announce at some point in the near future. Just know that the beta process takes a good amount of time simply because of all the bug fixes and game balancing that they are doing via patch.

    To those who are complaining that this makes the game "Too easy" for your tastes. Here is the thing. It is a beta and they will try different things.

    More important there is good difficulty and bad difficulty. The bad difficulty is things like the UFO having an absurd amount of health so it takes a lot of needless wrist strain to beat even tho victory was obvious long ago. Bad difficulty is tedious digging because the current cave system is boring and often leads to bottoms of water. Bad difficulty is a 20 percent pixel death penalty without any means to store them (Which would encourage restraint while exploring dangerous situations if you are loaded down with pixels)

    Good difficulty is boss fights that are interesting enough that you WANT to level up your equipment to beat them. Not because you just want to progress.
