I'm having the same problem. I've watched the video on the home page, and not only can I not build by repeatedly clicking E, but my builders are doing the same thing, just jumping around the structure pad with their manipulators out. I've made sure they're set to build, and talking to them tells me nothing, as they never mention anything about what they're supposed to be building.

I really think the problem is with applying the blueprints to the pad, because nothing happens when you do. Maybe add a dialog window or a chime when the blueprints have been applied, so we know for sure that they have. But as it stands, building seems to be broken.

Still, great mod. I'm sure this will be worked out, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes.

Edit: Almost forgot. I built a mine and stockpile, and I'm stocked up on everything but wood. I saw in the FAQ that wood can't be collected by NPCs yet, but I also see that's what they use to build in the video. Am I supposed to be able to give them wood to build certain structures, or will they use cobblestone, and it'll just appear like they're using wood?

Hi, my builders keep saying "There is no building for this construction pad" even after i've assigned a building, I cant even reassign it.

  4. Then you are pressing E on the NPCs then... not the pad.

It does make a sound when it is applied. Make sure you are standing near the center of the pad. Due to its big size, you have to be close to the position of the object, which is near the center ( a little to the left from there, but in dead center is close enough to use)

And yes, they use cobblestone instead of wood for now when checking for resources.

I'm pretty certain I would've hit the sweet spot at least once, because I must've tried hitting E at every point while standing beside, and on top of the pad, with my manipulator pointed at it, as well as pointed away. I'll try again when I get home, but even if I do eventually get it, it seems like this is still something that may want to be fixed in future versions.

  7. This.

    1) Press E on pad with blueprint.
    2) Listen for a sound.
    3) Use the Colonists Registry to verify it applied
    4) Assign builders.
    5) ?????
    6) PROFIT.

It isn't broken, so there is nothing to fix. You were holding the wrong item. If ANYTHING is still broken, its going to be the linking system.

Sorry, it was early on a Monday morning, and I don't know why I said I was holding my manipulator. I was holding the proper blueprint, and I tried all 4 blueprints available in the Colony beacon, but none worked. Don't you think that with all of the people having problems with building, that this could actually be an issue? I've followed your instructions here, and tried clicking E on the pad while holding blueprints, from every possible angle. This DOES NOT WORK. No sound, no response from builders, nothing. As I previously stated, the only thing that happens is that the NPCs I've assigned as builders will jump around the pad I've told them to construct on, which tells me that something probably did happen when I applied the blueprint, but it didn't result in anything being built.

Based on what I've read in this forum, you really don't seem to handle feedback well at all. Instead of mocking and insulting people who give you constructive feedback, perhaps you should listen and try to believe what they're saying, rather than assuming everyone just doesn't know what they're doing.

  10. Chill out, please.
    Especially you severedskullz.
If it's getting to you so hard then please, take a break man.

More insults. Isn't that nice. I guess you don't consider condescension to be insulting either. I suppose you weren't calling me an ignorant child, right? Where is my age posted as under 18?

I don't even care about the mod anymore, I really hope you're banned from this forum. People like you just poison what should only be a positive, constructive environment.

  12. Its not my fault he does not know how to read. He keeps thinking Im talking to him directly.. I told him straight up. If he does not like me or my mod, he is free to stop using it.

    Bye bye!

Oh and he still thinks I'm talking about HIM again... How self-centered.

  13. Alright, alright! I can understand it might be getting a little bit frustrating but what can you do, it's your mod, you're the author.
You have to deal with this.
    =P

Just try to take it easy.

  14. Oh I am. It just bugs me when people outright try and attack me for not solving their issues. Especially when they aren't giving me proper info to work off of. The only time I have been hostile to people were in cases like this. I'm sure you've seen me offering PLENTY of support up in the Modding sub-forum for just about everyone (That isn't asking for a tutorial or for me to do the mod for them obviously)

The fact that I get insulted for trying to offer support for the mod while it is still being developed is just straight up infuriating. Someone posts an issue, I post a response on how to fix said issue. Come to find out 10+ posts down the line they were 2 versions behind, or they were looking at the showcasing video instead of the one *I* posted on how to use it.

Like I told him... I can only go off of what I am being told. If someone tells me they are holding the matter manipulator while trying to build, then I state the solution to that. There is no way for me to know that the guy was half asleep and typed the wrong thing, yet I get yelled at and accused of "ignoring" my userbase. The fact that they are not going through the effort to make sure what they type is correct, or if the answer is not already available is the issue at hand.

THAT TvK, is what makes me angry. I can handle posting the same thing over and over. It's frustrating, but I can deal with it. What I can't deal with, is people attacking me and my mod, when they are the ones at fault at the very beginning by providing incorrect info.

People have sent me NUMEROUS PMs asking for help, and they are all solved, working, and happy. This particular case in an unwinnable one, and I simply not bothering to fight it with him. He has his mind set and Im not gonna even bother to change it.

I'm really sorry if you've answered anything like this, but I tried looking and didn't see. Is there any way that you could make this compatible with the Mass Effect mod? It erases the Matter Manipulator and replaces it with an omni-tool from the games. I can't figure out how to just erase the omni-tools from the ME mod to get the matter manipulator back, so I can tell my colonists to build things.
I also can't figure out how to get items into the stockpile/crates. I assume I can fix this by watching the stream you posted, but I haven't watched it just yet. I'm mostly here to ask about the ME mod. Thanks!

Yes you made it sound like its severed that is raging when it simply beacuse many players here cant bother to read. Fine you can make misstake but he as answered the same things over and over and stated it in the mod overview, this has been like that since early and its clearly not his instructions that is fault its some of the players.

Look in the player.config in your me mod folder, and search for omnitool, remove these lines and the same if it occur in recipes to but i think it will do with the player file. ^^

Well cturlte, even if you are newly awake or tired after an long day, you would have seen why it didnt work for you if you read or watch his newest stream :)

Again, I didn't attack you once. I stated my problems, and you came back with a condescending response that wasn't at all helpful. I said in my very first comment that I was trying to apply the blueprints, and because it was 9am Monday morning, I mistakenly said I was using the manipulator in my second comment. You clearly didn't take the time to read my first comment in its entirety, and instead took it as a personal attack. I've asked you to point out where I attacked you, because you haven't been able to do that, and I honestly don't see where I did.

  18. Why are you still here, exactly?
You apparently think I'm some sort of hostile asshole who ignores everyone, so why are you even pursuing this discussion even further? Drop it and move on. You will get no further reactions from me.

Heh. Yeah I can fix that for ya. I can include a recipe in the beacon for creating another one or something. I may just wind up changing the tool to use to assign builders. You aren't the first to have your MM removed :p

For the record, I read everything about building in the guide, and I did watch the video posted on the home page for this mod. Because the developer knows where he's posted all of his videos, it doesn't mean that the rest of us do. I don't have the time or desire to weed through 25 pages of comments to find a video, especially when it should be the exact same one posted to the main page. He's getting mad because he hasn't been clear about things, which is obvious based on the number of problems people are having with building. Rather than calling everyone idiots, he may want to look to himself to see if he's the problem. Someone who has spent countless hours working on something may find everything to be much clearer than someone who was only a small amount of experience with it.

His attitude just sucks, and if needs to insult anyone who has problems with his mod, maybe he needs to find someone else to handle the forum posting aspect for him.
