Coal: A not so abundant resource.

I'd like to see being able to make fuel out of plant fiber. While I feel 10:1 for wood to coal is too heavy in regards to fueling your ship, it would be more than fair for plant fibers as at least you can farm them.

 

I think deforestation will no longer be a problem once we can actually replant trees, or they regrow at a reasonable rate.

I struggles a tiny bit with coal but you really just need to make a mining tour deep towards the core and you should find, besides plenty of other materials, enough coal to jump to at least a few near planets.

 

Coal is fine though. If they up it it's going to take away from other ores.

 

Alpha stuck with crappy weapons and lag, I need every freaking pixel since any mob with charge hits me twice before I can kill them and the animation is SO delayed when they die the pixels spawn originally where I saw them. Fighting monsters I try to avoid because its just unbearable. I hope optimization is tackled a bit earlier then they say they will. Because 99% of my problems I feel stem from it. Also the high monster spawn rate plus my troubles equals absurd cation underground. Death weighs a heavier pentality to me then most due to the fact its hard for me to recover pixels.

 

Yea I can see if you are experiencing FPS lag, it would make it harder.

 

Yeah the swap over from windows to linux gave me better performance across the board, but it didn't deal with lag.. rather flattened it all out so i'm experience equal amounts of crappy FPS regardless of whats on the screen (where before rain turned my game into a slide show) I hope they put alittle bit of otimization in the agenda list before the second beta tier. Because at least that would help across the board, one thing people can't argue about is possibly of increased performance. Sure if you're runing an water cooled i-7 overclocked with three sli'ed titans you be lol'in at me but anybody else would see benefits from having some of that. (Apologizes for total derail of conversation)

 

You want some items so you can survive? At least then you can mess around more.

 

I can't log on to servers.. My ISP has a data limit due to me living in a rural area...Yeah i'm kind've bit on the borked side here. Playing on a laptop and internet with a data limit GO ME! *Sucess kid* still I'll figure out.. I'm just taking it casually and slowly. Since honestly I don't really want to progress with the constant threat of character wipes.

 

You have to make due with what you got, that's understandable. I hope the best comes towards you.

 

Yeah however exploring the left of this map has revealed some funky generation. The surface Dips down past the cave area revealing alot of silver and some coal.. Interesting seeing the background change that dramatically when you're just strolling along.

It's no surprise that you can't find enough coal. If you're planet hopping and never digging down for materials then you will never build up a reserve.
