Hello, I'm SladeJT. In truth I was hesitant to get Starbound as I already have Minecraft and Terraria, but a friend made that a moot point through gifting. I am now regretting my reluctance. I spent over an hour futzing around in the Character Creator. I think that was the moment I knew I'd be hooked. I ended up with the character you see as my avatar, whom I dubbed 'Ivo Nix' due to his general similarity to a certain villain. Although I keep dying thanks to aggressive bats and birds coming out of nowhere when I'm low on health, I am having a blast. I love the lore, I love the character designs, and I hope I can make my own ship later on in the game. If not there's probably a mod for it, knowing PC game communities.
Welcome to the forum! The modding community is already active so building your own ships is probably going to happen eventually.
