  1. Cloning doesn't really concern me since I still look like me, though I guess some people disapprove of cloning because it would interrupt the flow of RolePlaying once you die since you're not the "real you" anymore, if that makes any sense.

Yep! That's been the main debate here, because lots of people do roleplay; although in a way cloning could make for other RP scenarios. Also it's funny seeing some of these theories here.

  3. I've also enjoy the theories that people have made about cloning.
It reminds of when Meat Boy realizes that every time he dies his dead body ends up in Hell which makes me wonder if I have been playing as Meat Boy's clone(s) ever since I died the first time. :p
To be honest, these theories are better than just appearing in thin air like in Terraria. :D

That'd be a pretty cool boss, having to fight yourself.

  6. I can already think of the Boss Battle starting off with you and the evil clone debating on who is the real person. :p

Lets just not clone please. And say that we just transport our body back or sometjing

If not cloning, then maybe Some built-in module in your armour that teleports you back to your ship when it detects too much damage?

What if you aren't wearing any armor?

But then I would never get to see myself explode in beautiful, juicy giblets =(

Um... *cough*.. Not that I, uh... Like that sort of thing.

Yes it would. If you replicate the atoms/molecules exactly, it's the exact same thing.

Different conciousness though, talking mortality, it's the same to everyone else, but not the original.

    affsd Zero Gravity Genie

No, it doesn't work that way
Consiousness is just a bunch of chemical reactions in our brain that somehow worked out nice and suddenly we're sentient and self aware.

or we could say that the magical respawn button sends you back in time. or something like that.

    Alternal Existential Complex

Well chemicals or not it still wouldn't be you :p
    Or yeah, that works too.

  16. affsd

    affsd Zero Gravity Genie

    Yes it would
It technically WOULD be you. The consience is the exact same, because the molecules and atoms are the exact same in the exact same position in the exact same rotation, etc

  17. Alternal

    Alternal Existential Complex

Still different, because the "you" would still be dead, so would your conscience. The new clone would have their own conscience, and yes it would seem the exact same to everyone else, but it is still a clone and not the original no matter how similar it is.

it's the exact same thing therefore it doesn't matter

That's a little nihilistic but whatever you feel like. ahahahah

From the outside it doesn't matter and seems exactly the same. However, from the perspective of the person who died, it makes all the difference in the world.
