Well for the sake of Starbound and its world, I'm going to assume there's nothing after death unless the developers say so. As for the world we live in, I'd rather not get into that.

It's a game, at least they didn't make so you just respawn out of thin air.

Yeah I tried staying away from that, and knowing how kind the devs have been in the past, I believe they might say something along the lines of "Believe whatever you want to" when it comes to this.

  4. ever hear of EVE ONLINE....they do that all the time...its not a problem..

I totaly agree it will make my whole feel for the game do down a bit when i remember it... so i really the change it so that its really me. In this case i would rather a magic respawn.

But yea. OH IDEA i think the dev's should take a poll. Where people either chose.

I believe they're just going along the basis of "Believe whatever you want too". There doesn't seem like to much magic will be going on, so an unexplainable event would suffice.

That would change the roleplay a bit, yeah.

Maybe when ya get blown up, your Remains get Teleported back to the Space Station into a Vat, & new Cells & such are grown & then applied to your Body, Starship Troopers style? :p

Thus, you're in essence, you, being put back together!

Hmm... The 5th Element might also apply to this example too, where Leeloo is 'assembled', except the Machine doing it has your Remains to work with as a Base, so it's still literally 'you'...?

truth be told, has long as the brain is okay, youre still you. so maybe teleporter beacon in your brain, when you die *poof* back to the space station for a new body :p

It's regenerating: when you die you turn into a new person.

Honestly, I don't see why this is such a big deal, but to each their own I guess.
