If that war hadnt of happened on the flip side, we wouldnt have as advanced jets as we do now, we also wouldnt have the volkswagon, and even more important, the medical tech would be nothing like we have now. There was also the womens rights movement that really took off thanks to the war here in the u.s. Without the war, the women wouldnt have had jobs to take over that were once seen only as for men. Theres also a ton of other things that the nazi's directly or indirectly brought in.

I think it's official, Ore, Twintails ni Narimasu is the weirdest anime I've ever seen.

Naturally all those things happened quicker, what with the war and all, but I'd like to think they would have come about eventually without it. Sure, it's hard to imagine how planes and vehicles would have advanced without a dire need for it in order to gain an edge against the enemies but I'm almost certain Women's Suffrage and Medicine would advance regardless (albeit far more slowly since it was a manly white man world).
It's a damn shame when people overlook the hell that POWs and death camp prisoners went through in order to discover certain cures and medical breakthroughs.
