No. We have ways of combating cancer that involve Illegal Drugs, but no one wants to hop on that train because they're fracking illegal.

 

Yeah...we don't really have "cures" for a lot of disease states, such as the metabolic syndromes (HTN, DM, Dyslipidemia and Obesity). You'd have to be on meds for the rest of your life to control the disease, or, when it comes to tumors, it may be possible to get rid of them via surgery, or chemotherapy. It does work but the remission rates are still too high.

But in my opinion, we do have an incentive to fund for cures, just look at the recent Hep C cure Harvoni. It can be used to remove Hepatitis C virus in 12 treatments, but it's so expensive, you won't be able to afford it.

So just don't get Hep C in 20 years. Then the generics will come and you can buy as much of it as you want.

Even though we have antivirals around, in most cases, if the viral infection is small and self limiting, we wouldn't prescribe anything and let it die on its own. That way we would avoid purposefully giving patients drugs that have bad side effects, like Naproxen (Alevel), or Ibuprofen (Motrin). They're not safe, they can cause GI bleeds, and they shouldn't be OTC, but they are.

 

The redwoods are something I miss so much about being in CA, even if I only saw them a few times. >.<

 

I haven't cracked anything open yet, except for the blue package in the front and the stuff in it was a little tasteless. Everything else though is the kind've food that I know i'm going to enjoy. I was just hoping for more gummies/candies instead of chips and cookies.

Japanese gummies are amazing.
They taste like fruit, not colors!

 

It's mostly because western gummies are very industrialized. I'm pretty sure they're put under a bunch of chemicals and they don't really taste like fruit.
I feel like japanese gummies (i have tasted one once. a shopping mall here in brazil had a tiny japanese shop that sold all sorts of shit, it was kinda neat) are more of the real deal. Of course, Japan isn't the best in everything. I think I like american stuff for breakfast more and french cuisine is pretty good.
Japan takes the cake on art and side-foods to eat, though.
