    Wouldn't a single, more powerful card be more beneficial than the SLI 970s?
    You could get a 980 ti for the price of those cards together and would have an overall lower power draw, more stable frame rate, generally fewer issues and give you more VRAM.
    I've heard a lot about SLI introducing a few issues and some games don't even support it.
    Also, as I've just learned, two 4GB cards still give you 4GB of VRAM to work with though I was also just reminded that the 4GB 970s actually have closer to 3.5 GB.

    I mean, it was 7 years old and I was playing recent games with max settings. Did it struggle sometimes? Yeah. But if you pick the right parts they will last a good while.
