    Btw, the -vitch in slav middle names basically means "son of _____". So Ivan Ivanovitch Ivanovsky had a father also named Ivan (probably Ivanovitch) Ivanovsky.

    Their over-censorship earned them a really bad name in the industry as the infamous "child friendly" dubber that removed all death, blood, religion, Japanese words, alcohol and wounds from one piece. They managed to cut out Laboon and the little garden arc of One Piece through clever editing. Here's a sample of it: watch what happened to Bellemere.

    I mean, we have surnames ending with "-wicz" (literally the same suffix) but it was never truly used like this in any context. :3

    I know its true for Ukrainian and possibly Russian. So probably not all slavs.
    Theres also a short suffix you can add to a last name in Ukrainian to refer to that entire clan but I'm not sure how to spell it.

    Rather than just a single family, clan refers to everyone with that last name.
    People don't usually include their uncles, cousins and grandparents when talking about family.
    Besides in my case that covers some 30+ people.
