Well would you look at that Mary Sue. If that's not a Mary Sue I don't know what is.

With Sanderson's magic systems, I'm pretty sure there's a pen-and-paper RPG system for Mistborn, if you're using that magic system.
With the moving islands, maybe have a grid/set amount of points they can appear at whenever your party travels to them. You roll a dice, and they might be having a nice tropical time, or they might be knee deep in snow.
If you want someone to brainstorm with, I'm up for it. I love worldbuilding!

    Total Party Kill.
We shall see if spike can mange an interesting story with such a character. I have high hopes, Spike. Don't fail us.
Not quite, I basically wanted a secondary magic system to plug into the base D&D magic to just make things more interesting, to give me options. The basic plan is just that the D&D magic is slightly different from Invenstiture, (Brandon Sanderson's magic.) and that investiture is just converted into magic as needed, giving me some extra freedom. (It's fully possible this will never come up. I have vague, nebulous plans at this point. Very vague ones.)

you say d&d and dming.. and i just wanna make an opening post xD

You enter a dimly lit tavern, old oaken floors that creak under your feet, adorned by simple wooden furniture, many of which worn down by age. Throughout the room you see various races from a plethora of walks of life, some sitting lonewolf sipping from a mug of ale, to the small groups of adventurers, rogues, and huntsmen, all talking about their latest gains, and recent quests, some even exchanging loot openly. As you hear the front door creak to a close behind you, you hear an equally creaky voice croak out from an old hag that seems to be tending the bar, her accent thick, yet somehow still understandable, "Welcome ta tha Bleedin Widow, Sit ya arse down an a wench'll be wit ya!" She seems to go back to whatever shes doing, atleast before you hear the beginnings of a commotion, and turning to said noises, you hear, and see what seems to be a barbarian in the middle of lifting his chair, no doubt ready to smash it over a mages head.. Someone who also appears to be preparing a spell. Just before things get too out of hand however, you see single bladed battleaxe fly through the air, cleanly cutting into the table beside them, followed with the hags croaking voice "Thats anough outa ya, ya damn bleedin twits! Take ya lil school fightins outside MY pub 'afore i take ya fuckin 'eads off!" The old hag seems to mean business as well, something the angered pair seem to pick up on as the hag pulls out yet another, bigger axe. With a huff the mage 'acts' as the better man and storms off, leaving the pub rather swiftly, leaving the barbarian simply plop back into his seat.. Ofcoarse after setting the chair back down.

There are three unoccupied tables in the room, one in the far darker corner, one near the entrance, and one near a group of rogues.
There are also a few unoccupied stools at the bar itself, several of which seemed to be freshly unoccupied after the owners display of anger, presumably not wishing to be unfortunate enough to be in the way of another battle axe.

You also see a bounty/quest board in the room, near the quite upset barbarian. There appears to be several notices on the board.

You also notice a very distinct smell in the air, one that makes you question the validity of the cheaper ales on the menu...

Looking at some of the windows, you can tell that it is close to nightfall, with the beautiful tint of orange covering the land as it ever so slowly grows darker. The perfect time to start a night out, or as they say.

my personal choice in my worlds, is to have the magic connected to something. for example, i had a world where an entire country was cut off from the source of natural magic(druid magic), so the natural forces in the country were cut off. the land was ripped apart, leaving a trail of floating islands, above an ocean of unpredictable sea currents, and in the entire place, druid magic just didn't work(just because the only druid i had in the game was multiclassed, so it didn't hurt him too much(also ranger magic, but the archer of the group was a fighter, not a ranger)).

This is actually entirely possible if you follow the forgotten realms books closely. The magic there is its own thing called the Magic Weave or.. something bullshitery mumbo jumbo thats managed by some goddess or something or other. However the magic weave does not extend out into everything that is, but mostly extends out to the planes of existence that are within the forgotten realms and possibly even more that arent.

What this means is that there is plenty of room for another plane of existence/universe/whatever that has its own form of magic. Ofcoarse the books also took this a bit further from what i vaguely remember from my dads ramblings, which is, not only could other planes of existence/universes/whatever exist with their own magics, but they could also exist without magic, or they could exist where technology just simply doesnt work and everything is based on magic. They also had what they called Dead Zones where neither tech nor magic would work, and pretty much all life failed to develop, or died off. (which of coarse means if you enter there is no way of getting out once the gateway/portal/whatever closes, since the only way to open said things is through magic or technological means.. of which neither can work)

But in either way, bottom line is just make it work and have fun. Also remember that some of the fun comes from introducing something and not being so air tight with development.

I tend to crush them together in my hand, though the last one is usually pretty tough to crack.

Rip that nutcracker though, it looks exactly like the one my grandfather has.

Enderal. Or just get modding, Falskaar and Perkus Maximus are fun mods. Interesting NPCs is also a great mod.
Good to know, I had basically seen another D&D game with a magic system from an anime hooked in, and it worked out well and simply, which made me realize that the magic system in D&D (At least 5E) is kind of made to be hooked into like that.
And don't worry, I'm not planning to make it much more complicated than what I stated, about half of the reason for a second magic is for flavor when they grab magic items and to give me a way to give them interesting powers if I choose to cross worlds at all. (Aluminum gnats aren't so gnaty anymore, now are they?!)
Hmm, the magic either intrinsically connected to something or the magic especially connected to something... I'll have to think about those options... I do have two areas of really high magical energies, which I need to figure out how and why.
Speaking of, I don't have anything specific down for my magical areas, any ideas? (One is an island only accessible by another island, the other one is way up north without anything really stopping you from getting there save just that fact that it's kind of far.)
I'm thinking the island could be a bit amorphous, constantly changing... in some way... these could also be wild magic zones, sectioned off sanctuaries for a magical race, antimagic zones, simply magical forests, I'm not sure. Throw some ideas out, I'd like to hear concepts.

Actually it didn't even did this...

Start by slow town wandering, maybe use a boat to swim somewhere nearby.
Then acquire a ship, to access some lands far away. Then some kind of plane (or magic) to ascend into floating islands. THEN GO ALL GURREN-LAGANN. :rainbow:

Also you can name stuff using polish words. That will surely sound exotic.

Do you mean campagn plan or world ideas? As a town that moved, then got augmented to a floating town, up to a magical floating city sounds awesome.
And I'll keep that nameing scheme in mind. And here we have the grand city of Miasto! (I was expecting something still simple, but no! Good on you poland!)
