Don't worry guys, the update is on the way - it may take some time because Drago and I busy with other stuff but its def. in the works. There will be also a few new piano tracks: Preview (Soundcloud)
i was kinda impatient, so i updated this one to the new version (everything except choco riding techs) https://www.sendspace.com/file/y2wish
Going to continue to patiently await the release of this. Your team has done a wonderful job of modding, and several of my friends agree.. that the FF Mod and your MMX mod are some of the better fleshed out mods available on the site. Going to be amazing to see what you guys have in store for us when it finally does come out.... ...also.. the piano songs are awesome! Now if we can just get Mogzart's random songs to stop playing the same song every two songs that play...lol
please update this mod ill ya have to do is just at least just make it upbeat giraffe but not add in anything
I've encountered a small problem while upgrading the chocobo mount and couldn't resist to post this: https://gifsound.com/?gif=i.imgur.com/Jc3PjiI.gif&v=CBrWNbjw3RA&s=15
HUG. C'mere you awesome knucklehead! *chases for delivering such hilariously punny stuff that is also heartwarming*
i recently tried out viera mod (http://community.playstarbound.com/resources/wip-the-viera-race-of-ivalice.1533/) and both chocobo mod and viera have moogleplush.object i had no idea where i should post it, but then i figured viera was released month earlier, so i posted it here
Whooop: (@ anyone who plays also the Maverick-Hunter MMX mod: Yes, every tech of the MHMMX mod will also benefit from the "jump out of water" code.)
Please make this bug into a feature of the mod. Have Drago add one more chocobo specifically to emphasize this feature.
Very glad you guys will update it. Its sad the modding community in starbound is kinda messy.. Most mods die 1-12 months after release and we never hear a word from the authors again. Maybe after 1 year a small glimpse or a fan update, but even that is very rare. I dont need mods updated every vanilla update, but this rather fast "dying" of mods is very sad to me.
That's why the modding licenses are a big topic atm. There are lots of people (including myself) browsing the outdated directories searching for something to revive. Sadly, once you read "Must get the authors..." you're already done for, since it's likely the author itself isn't active anymore and it's still based off copyright, so you can't just re-release it. But yeah, you're right. But as long as new modders come along I think it's fine.
The amount of "dead" or "dying" mods is proportional to the rate at which the game is updated. Most mods "died" after Enraged Koala because Chucklefish slowed development of Starbound a bit. Now, the game has gotten two new Stable versions (Upbeat and Spirited Giraffes), several bug fix patches, and generally feels updated again, so people are coming back and updating their mods, albeit slowly.
I see your point. Its true, as far as I can see, the most mods "died" after Enraged Koala. Nearly 100% worked this time back and never got updated after the big starbound stable updates coming after EK. I hope this will somehow change in the future. I dont like starting all over again (I mean, not always, but at least in starbound..) because a big race mod died or something.. I do have (some, lol) friends in RL, but none of them is even close to play games like starbound ("indie" / pixel / 2D), just the all-new blockbuster games that come from time to time. Its hard to keep playing a game if you are alone like.. well.. 100% of the time. Mods kinda helped there, but the lack of good new mods and the amount of dead old mods even further spoiled the mood for me (sorry for spelling mistakes, english ain't my first language). I know its kinda off-topic, but how are you guys playing games like SB? I mean, like me, completely alone or with some friends or just with people you met playing a game?
I can't talk about starbound (cuz I actually play this with my brother, if I do), but I'm always a loner in mmos. The main key is: Find a good server / guild, get along with the people and this will keep you playing. Unlike most people think, it's not the games quality itself that keeps players playing, it's mostly the community they interact with. You already did the first step since the forum is a good place to build connections. Maybe you'll find some cool people you can play with on a server.
