I made a thread in general discussion and suggestions about this topic to see what StarBounders thought, and i've got some good feedback. Here is what I wrote: Now i know people within the community have already been talking about introducing 'mating' into the equation. Well, lets say we put this idea slightly to the side. How about being able to have children with NPC's of the same race... The child could have a random combination of both your characters, and the NPCs features. It could have stages of maturity. It would be an NPC also. It basically sets the game creators up with a good solid update that lots of people would enjoy. Being able to make toys, clothes, and essentially have the NPC child growing up would be something, i feel, that would build a cohesive connection to the game. Plus... the cuteness factor would be so damn AWWWWWWW! Think about it. Comment what you guys think and give us a like if you like the idea P.S the pound thing in the title is because i'm English I got told to post this here by 'FreeSmile'Also to clear it up - Having a child needs NO EXPLICIT anything. Like in Harvest Moon, it could just happen (after certain chat options are triggered). + Having children is optional!
Ya, I agree I really like the ideas of relationships with npcs. But I worry that taking care of a child and a pet if the players will not do he main part of the game which is exploring. So maybe space nanny?
I'd like to see children of some of the races, I'd imagine some of them would vary GREATLY from the adult. What if Hytol are tadpoles?
Multiplayer would be... Why? Just why? Also; imagine being r#ped by a Novakid. That would be horrible.
I like this idea, maybe the avian have chicks, the hytol have tadpoles, and the glitches build a baby and you can pick the parts?
Bump, because I just thought of it, but this guy thought of it first. Children are the big thing missing from any plausible settlement.
Oh man, it'll be Fable all over again. "Heya kids, daddy's home from nuking a poisonous death-world from orbit, raiding an Avian temple for artifacts, blowing up a Floran village and capturing another terrifying horror of a creature for experimentation. Who wants icecream?" Bonus points if they could lead to sidequests like running off to be a brave adventurer like you and getting lost on a planet after messing with your ship or something like that.
Baby Florans? Oh lord, now I have to run from cute, tiny face eating plants. I want one! If anyone's planning on eating theirs can I have it instead? I might lose an arm or a leg, but it'd be worth it.
My own comment gave me an Idea, you can add a side quest Cradle Robber/Kidnapped where you have to get your child back from a bunch or crazy Apex Scientists, why Apex you ask? Why not?
Or for the Glitch you might just skip the baby and build an adult, since babies are inconvenient. I can imagine the newborn: "GREETINGS PARENTALS. I ENJOYED BIRTH. GOODBYE."
