I got 2 chickens and iv been feeding them every day. But i recently released them to eat the grass on the farm. Do I still have too feed them hay even if they eat the grass everyday or can I stop feeding them hay and let them eat grass instead.
it shouldn't even possible to really feed them when they get their food outside. When they eat their fill outside, they won't touch the food in the trough and after a few days of even trying to feed them, the trough will be full since the food in there doesn't go bad. It will simply stay there until it gets eating during a rainy day or in winter (which is why the auto-feeder works in the first place)
Indeed. animals will refuse to go out when it rains so you need to feed them. I think they would go out in winter (and wouldn't like it) but there is no grass in winter so it's pointless
