Closed Character loads then immediately crashes

Been running quite smoothly since I bought the game a few days ago, now when I load my character the game crashes without an error or anything. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?


UPDATE*
When I delete my starship data I can enter the game with my character, of course with a bare ship, but as soon as i try and go to my star map then it crashes. Maybe has something to do with my world map being corrupted? And i did reinstall the game.

I used an older save file but if someone knows how to restore my old ship that would be great to know, thanks for the help.

 

It's probably corrupted. If you were able to restore an older version then I'd call it a win and just do some in-game work to get the old save up to speed. You should make regular and frequent backups of your player and universe folders in case this happens again.

 

Try to launch Starbound with OpenGL, probably it will work.
