Many apologies if this has already been addressed in a previous post but i could not seem to find it if it has; but I was curious if one would be able to build a teleporter pad on a planet allowing the player to beam straight into a base. Once again, I'm sorry if i am reiterating a prior question.

That's would be the same as the bed in Terraria ;) it's a nice idea but we have no information about it :/

I haven't heard of it, but I hope that you can do that. :)
Even better if I could have a teleport station on my ship with multiple teleporters to different places.

Yeah there's no information on this but I think it can be assumed to be so. I mean, it's kind've an obvious feature and something you'd really want to have after playing the game for a little while. And the dev's have played the game for a little(or a lot) while.

Haven't heard anything, but I would hope that it is in the game. After all, you'd want to be able to beam down to a base you've built.

It would only be logical to include that as a feature.

It'd make sense if you had some kind of targeting system, but I won't mind if there won't be as long as it works intuitively.

So far there doesn't seem to be a way to change beamdown points, but some kind of craftable beacon(or bacon) to change tele-spawn probably isn't that hard to add. The question is: Would they want to do that or keep beamdowns at a fixed location to give vehicles abit more use in traversing to a base or point on a planet?

  9. I'm gonna guess that you'll eventually be able to build something that can act as a signal waypoint for the beaming device.

Craftable, placeable and re-usable beacons would be nice. And when you are about to beam down, you'd be able to target any beacon on a planet, no matter who placed it. However you'd always beam down to the surface, not deep underground. No beacon means you teleport at the default location.

If we are able to beam down to more than one location on a planet then there might not be much use for basic vehicles.

For the sake of our bases, though, I think we should be able to change the beam down location to a specific area, but only to one specific area. Could be done with some kind of craftable receiving platform. So, you teleport to your little outpost, you then hop in your skycar and off you go. Something like that.

I love the idea of having some sort of linking item that could be used on your ships teleporter and could be connected to ground teleporters, Keep in mind the item would be a very hard item to craft.

It seems pretty reasonable to believe that there will be some sort of place-able, craft-able item to which players can "beam down". Though it is hard to say if placing multiples of this item on a particular planet is warranted. We don't actually know how large the planets will be. I think we can expect them to be much smaller than worlds in Terraria. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the largest of planets is smaller than a small world in Terraria. If most planets, are say, half the size of a small world in Terraria, the is really no need to have multiple places to "beam down", especially if vehicles allow players to quickly transverse the landscape.

I swear a craftable beacon was mentioned SOMEWHERE.
