Modding Help Changing a custom race story SEPARATE from the main story?

I want to start making a brand new story for a Race I been working on here but I know nothing about the scripting and code behind quests and story.

What are all of the folders I should be looking into? And is there a tutorial that can help me with this?

And if I get no-where, I would totally pay someone to do it for me.

 

Assets folder quests, you want the tutorial and story folders. If you want to avoid the Protectorate intro mission entirely you're going to have to do some acrobatics because that is a quest chain. You can probably replace the initial quest with yours and then START the main questline in the event your player is not of the chosen race, but it may even be easier to modify the first quest to perform this check and then send you on the other intro Quest if you are of the chosen race.

In either case you're gonna have a headache especially if you want mods like Frackin' Universe to be compatible with yours.

I'd study that mod, myself. If you are worried about incompatibilities you could release the custom intro as a patch, so people don't have to choose between your mod and something else.

 

Thanks, and yes I was thinking to keep it as a separate mod from the species mod.
