Glad it works well for you,but for some of us default controls suck. I want to use Arrow keys for movement, 0 on NUMPAD for jump,Right CTRL for interact, and 1-9 on the NUMPAD for the 1-9 hotkeys. At least that way I could feel more in "control" then I currently feel. I hope this gets fixed soon. It really should be a priority.

    Whoa. great work!
Allthough I think, as other has mentioned, that making the game easier isn't really necessary. For example, I feel that the pixels and items are worth a lot when it costs more to create stuff. Makes me happy when I finally can craft that thing I've been saving for etc. And I fear dying because I'll loose a lot of them pixels...

She always uses the mouse left-handed, and prefers to map movement keys to either arrows or IJKL. Some games are even nicer and have an optimized "lefthand mode" toggle that does this automatically, along with moving any other basic buttons within easy reach. I really wish more developers did this.

Oddly she has no trouble at all with game controllers. Go figure.

Nice to have this updates so soon. :)
I know that "tonight" means what it means but we you have a more concrete answer? I mean, in terms of timezone.

    Thanks!

Honestly I'm just happy to be mining faster. In terms of pixels, just going around exploring as well as killing got me pixels fast. Of course I try not to die during my escapades. But as others have said, I will reserve judgement until I firs hand experience whether the changes nerfed or improve the gameplay. Remember, everyone is on a different level, they're probably trying to balance how much the rate per mechanics will change so that it can meet both side's expectations. For all we kno, it could be such a slight change in gameplay for the ones that like it as it is that they won't even notice it, but it would be a significant change for those who do desire the change.

They didn't nerf anything. Damage values are still the same, behaviors are still the same. They just made the pace a little faster by tweaking mining speed and reducing pixel costs and penalties, since people are dying a lot. This won't stop people from dying just as often.

I'm just hoping that the these fixes dont begin to make the game a more casual affair. I like my games to be somewhat grindy and difficult. To me the difficulty makes up for the "horrible" A.I (it may be dumb, but it packs a punch).

This game will still be all kinds of awesome if they do make it easier like Terraria/minecraft though- i just dont want to take a ride on that fall. I liked dying 3-4 times on my first planet because i was charging unknown monsters with a sword. Not knowing what could have been wont make me sour if it gets "nerfed".

Pretty sure you're in the minority here, most people don't like grindy games.

    Grindy != Difficult

Good point. I guess what I meant was the scale of the death penalty isn't quite so integral-- I should learn to avoid absolutes on the internet. In other words, the fact that they impose a sort of death penalty-- even if it's just respawning elsewhere with only slightly fewer pixels-- means that what causes you to die has more impact on the difficulty than does the penalty when you die.

They could just have two thermometers, one blue that depletes for cold and one red that fills for heat. If they really wanted to get fancy they could put some ice sickles on the cold and some heat waves on the hot.

Since you are removing the "underground friend beam to ship" exploit, could you get an item or tech in that gives us the ability to beam up to our ships while underground (similar to Terraria's magic mirror)? I don't relaly see the point of having to spend a lot of time jumping and climbing back to the surface after an excavation party.

Not sure if this has been said already but ore/chest generation is quite rare especially with the first planet, maybe this should be changed?

Chest generation probably has to do with planet level?

Thank you so much for this. It makes sense for weak tools to destroy blockades slower, but I never understood why collecting items must take 5 seconds of doing nothing.

And now we wait for people to complain because they can't trap it between walls and hit it through them with a sword.

From my understanding experimentally and with insight from others is that your armor value is averaged between all your pieces, but the energy and warmth values stack.

EDIT: Not a direct average, there are either hidden bonuses, or different weighting between tiers of armor when mixed.
