Just tried this new update, i'm so happy with all the bugfix and specially with the performance, i have a REALLY old pc and i can run it so smooth! thanks! keep up the great work!
I love Starbound so far, and Angry Koala was a great update, a wait, but worth it with so many new additions and fixes. Now Furious comes out, and has a few updates to weapon drops and some sort of update to the file system which has not affected anything I can see thus far. Even shields all have the default, "This item lacks a description" still. It's a simple bug, but in all this time it's still there after a long patch, with minimal new content. What bout new biomes? Ship upgrades? Quests? Pets? Maybe I'm just impatient to see more, but this patch didn't offer as much in content as I had hoped. Still, every step along the way helps. Keep up the good work guys, I hope to see more content patches in the future.
According to the patch notes...this patch was largely back end work and not content (though they obviously did do some).
ya this patch was mainly to fix the need for character wipes since from what I've noticed in the forums was most players top concern
2 things, there are ways to mod these game, if it's that easy to make a hotkey binder, than do it yourself. second, to be this critical in a game barely into beta, i don't think they have any specific reason to give in to shitty demands like this. the developers need to worry about bugs, glitches, things that could crash the game, or even improve its performance, i mean cutting down the startup time by a minute and some, that's amazing for one update! and you're worried about how to play the game differently? why don't you go play something else then? cause I've been playing this game quite a bit, and NOT ONCE have i stopped and gone "damn, this key should be here". People like you make gaming communities look bad, and it's sad that you'd even spend the money to buy this game in its beta, JUST to mock the dev team for their priorities. these people deserve praise for taking some simple idea and blowing it up into something like this. i haven't played a game religiously like this since the beta of minecraft. but you can't even appreciate a well though key layout? pchuh, what kind of lazy gamer are you?
Well, it is beta, but still, constructive criticism is good. And they should try to fix the major problems ASAP. Even now, patch came out nearly week ago, with assuring, that they'll fix the error it makes in the same day, or the day after. And it is almost a week now, no patch with fixes. Making control modification is realy BASIC work. Modders can't really do it, as it changes the strucfure of the game, but devs should be able do it in a moment. I don't believe, they're doing it for almost two months now. Hotkey binder also isn't a good way to deal with this, as it makes problems when it comes to chatting. I hope the devs won't become like Terraria crew some time ago, or DayZ crew. I love them for the awesome game they are producing, and hope they'll mantain to actually develop it in a good way. Take for an example Gnomoria, where awesome updates changing and adding many things actually are released every two-weeks on the same day. That negates the posibility of "WHEN IS THE NEXT UPDATE" rant.
I'm on OS X, when i'm using steam, the game crashes right after the chucklefish logo shows up. However , it is possible to successfully make it trough the home screen by using the starbound.app directly.
I just bought this game, and yeah, it's in Beta, but I assumed (and I think it should be fair to assume) there would be custom keybinding. I'm left-handed. You have my $15, and I have a game I can't play at all. Please fix this.
so SAD with this path i have 5 fps, i was really going to buy this game, but now =C i will use pirate copy
Shitty demands, play the game differently, really? Some people can't play the game AT ALL without keybinds. We have PAID for the game, just like you, we understand this is a beta, expect and accept bugs, imbalances and roughness around the edges, but we also expect a product we can actually USE. Adding this feature isn't too hard nor too time-consuming and is ESSENTIAL. It should have been done ages ago, if i remember correctly (haven't been following much since i can't play), the last two big updates added new CONTENT, so perhaps the team's priorities need to be revised a little? Using third party programs for keybinds, playing righty or modding the game are by far unideal solutions, besides, it isn't up to us to do the dev's job. Some people here cry for more content, better performances and less character wipes, while, despite being a minority, some of us just want to be able give the game a try so we too can praise the devs...and then cry for more content, better performances and less character wipes. Comfortable controls and well designed interfaces are the most important part of a game. It doesn't matter if you have the best ideas, graphics or stories, the experience will never be as good as it could without this comfort. Keybinds would allow more players to try the game for the first time (most of us have been waiting for a long time) as well as provide a better experience for those who would prefer something different than the default control. Considering nearly everyone here want keybinds, even if some of us are more zealous about it than others, how is this a shitty demand?
Hi all. Excellent game. Everything is fine but i really need in options ability to change controls. I just want to change "i" for inventory. tnx
I think they mentioned that hotkey mapping will be featured in the the next patch they release. note: the last couple updates on Steam aren't patches, they're hotfixes to correct some little issues the discovered after releasing the patch. just so you know. edit: also, this
The last one took a month but they said it would be less time this time around. It all depends on whether or not they hit a snag or an unforeseen bug rears it's ugly head and how soon they can fix it and what all they plan to add to the game in the coming patch.
