Yeah, If they want their costumers to continue following their series, then they shouldn't force them to buy a new computer so very fast, they could at least wait 10 years Before making a game that forces you to upgrade... they could have made assassin's creed 3 with same Engine as 1 and 2, so I could enjoy their fantastic work more.. but I am sorry I am gonna stop play Assassin's creed from now, because I am sick tired of buying a new computer as soon a new game comes out.. It's making me sick and wanting to puke all over the Place..
Unless you're buying a gaming laptop or at least one that has its own gaphics card and not an integrated one then it's not going to last very long in how many years it'll be relevant. If you really want a gaming machine you don't have to keep buying you're gonna want to get a desktop you can just swap parts out. You can do really powerful stuff on a PC but the flipside is that you are gonna have to invest the time into it to do it properly. A company *will* try and get stuff running on as many computers as it can because it'll make more money that way. But, like I said, technology is ever moving. At a certain point, people who don't bother upgrading will run into the cliff of not being able to run every new game that comes out because a company will move on to the new tech.
The beaming underground thing is happening all over again for me after digging out and building up the terrain for my base. I also find the birds highly aggressive once more. it was alright when a few of them attacked me on sight, but every bird I see attacks when within a certain radius
You're totally right, I haven't played a new game in some 30+ years cuz they don't support my Apple II. Terrible games, all of them.
My first computer was a real Gaming Computer, after 1 year, that computer crash because of a virus in the geforce card, took months Before I got back the computer, then I got a new geforce card as well then after 1 year more the computer crashed again, after that I bought my first laptop with gaming capacity, but the games keep upgrading and upgrading and forces me to buy new laptop every year to follow the game-series... you Think that is fun? I could have gone to China and lived there for years with that Money instead and practise KungFu with the monks everyday, that would have made my Life much better, don't you Think so to?.. I played Runescape for years because I didn't had to buy new computer playing it, and then suddenly the runescape team destroyed the game and made it more simple to gain exp for everyone, wasted my time getting 99 agility the hard way that took a year to achieve, now you can get 99 agility in just a month playing, yeah well I stopped play that shit game, then Diablo 3 came and Auction House destroyed Everything there too, so I stopped it too, Starbound is a clear Winner )
Never thought of the way Tiy and his team want us to play their game? Maybe they want it to feel like "hell this is outer space with pirates everywhere". This would making friends thrilling and dangerous what, for the fact the it's a SURVIVAL sandbox space game, seems pretty legit. Just because it's 2D doesn't mean it's a child's game with friends and unicorns everywhere. So if you want friendly gameplay, find your friendly community to play along. This way the game stays challenging because you never know who you will meet; new friends, bandits, travelers, whatever.
That's the problem with some 2D games, people immediately think it's going to be happy with rainbows and starburst, and dancing monkeys singing about how they lost their puppy to a mean grinch dude, who like... stole their puppy, but really didn't, because the puppy thought he needed a friend, and decided to run over to him anyway. So they sing. And dance, and smile. Then they have tea, and crumpets. And play boggle. But then the puppy is sad, because he doesn't have thumbs, the grinch dude he like... does magic or some shit, and gives him thumbs. So they can play boggle. Then they realize, wait, you don't need thumbs to play boggle! What the fuck is boggle anyway? That's a dumb game, lets go play some kickball or eat popsicles. Finally, the monkeys come back, and they're like, "Dude you stole our dog. That was totes uncool." And the Grinch says, "I didn't, he came to me. I thought he was lost." "You brought him in? Cool shit, bro. Lets be friends." say the monkeys, then they live happily ever after. With tacos, and chocolate, and tomatoes.
Fair enough. If the developers of Starbound want their game to cater strictly to those seeking a challenge, it is their game. However, as they have not indicated so ("survival" is a very broad term, and you are only choosing one definition of it), I wish to make my opinions on their direction known. That is, after all, the point of open discussion for a Beta/Alpha. Please read the following post before you respond, and make sure you at least try to understand my viewpoint. Thank you. http://community.playstarbound.com/index.php?threads/my-opinions-on-pvp-forced-and-otherwise.67174/ EDIT: Also, I should point out that I grew up playing Mega Man and other "Nintendo-Hard" games. I am perfectly aware that 2D doesn't mean it's a child's game. 2D also doesn't mean it has to cater to a niche audience.
Love all the progress, but one thing I really can't wait any longer for: control configuration! I really hope it's fully implemented and functioning in the next update!
Actually, that looks Awesome as Hell. I can't wait until the navigation system is better/updated. I don't need to wait for that to feel like playing, but it will be a very welcome addition when it comes. Keeping track of planets or travel logs is currently impossible aside from marking your home planet, which is sad in a game with a huge universe. I've been assuming from the beginning though that our current iteration of being able to mark or label planets is something they definitely plan on expanding in the future. It's cool to know though that if they don't at least there will be a mod for it (not that modding is always the answer either). Some ideas are so basic and good that they need to be part of base game, especially something like navigation in such a huge game as Starbound. Hopefully we'll be able to just place our own markers and labels on the star map as well. Upgraded ship tech, like scanners, could do what you show in that screenshot there and give information on the selected planet. No matter what they end up doing with it though I'm sure we'll get something deeper in navigation than the bare bones one home planet system we have now.
Just Rofl... Either you're the biggest troll i ever (and i mean EVER) met, or (but i don't hope so) mean that awkwardly serious. A game is only good if you can play it with your old-as-shit-pc from 1993? You have to buy every year a new pc to play all the new games? What is wrong with you. I have 600 bucks to live every month. That's for rent, food, internet, everything and i still put any cent for a new pc in a box until i had enough. I saved 800 bucks that way and bought a new pc 3 years ago. I just looked up and let others built the pc i wanted and even this way it was just above average. But i can still play everything today at nearly max details. Also... you gonna test the games illegally now, before buying? I would accept this excuse for nearly everything, but not because you are not able to read the system requirements for a game. Again... If your laptop is not even good enough to make it to the minimum settings, then don't buy it. Noone forces you to buy games at all! Suddenly in your next message you come with "No a real game is fit for a 360-old machine computer, I played command and conqurer on a really slow computer back in the 1995 hehe". About what are we talking here at all... if you only like games that your C64 can run, then just play those, but don't say new games are crappy. You wouldn't say that games for the WiiU are bad, because you can't play them on your NES! "they could at least wait 10 years Before making a game that forces you to upgrade"... i would say the same thing again and again... so just read, what i wrote above. "My first computer was a real Gaming Computer, after 1 year, that computer crash because of a virus in the geforce card"... i had to google that one, because i just couldn't believe what i read. A virus on your graphics card? Probably it just exploded, because you again played AC3 with your High End 386... there is no possibility for a virus on a graphics card and i really don't know what you are talking about. I don't like to say anything like this at all, but you shouldn't use a pc with your knowledge...
can someone help? the asset packing and unpacking dosent work, i just run it and closes faster than a blink...
Well like I said, I did send the computer back to the Company and note: "they told me it was a virus in the geforce ti4400 graphical card", it's not what I Think, it's a fact from what the Company told me, so there you go - the fact that they also gave me a new geforce ti4400 card simply says things and two, also that graphical card crashed a year after that too.. also, I've been using computer since 1992, probably longer then you've
I will admit that's longer than I've been alive, so I am pretty impressed by that in an existential way. I disagree that all games must be built to run on every single computer, regardless of age. For example, I don't think any modern games are capable of running on the Apple 1, and I don't think that's a standard of universal access that should be expected. The graphical and processing scope of games evolve to accommodate new innovations in the graphical and processing capabilities of computers, which come hard and fast. It makes intuitive sense, to me, that a more modern machine would be required to play more modern games. e: That said, I think it would be wise if more game developers at least optimized their products adequately, so that I wouldn't experience vast inconsistencies in which sorts of games I can run well and which I can't.
http://i.imgur.com/5lB1WLX.png What is the origin of that Starbound concept UI? It looks wicked. The detailed planet info and bookmarks bit especially. I ask because I'm hoping its a mod I can dl and use? (fingers crossed) Either way, I do hope in the future when quest stuffs are added, that a more comprehensive and versatile Map Navigation can be implemented. Such things like additional planet details and bookmarks/favs would be ideal and would likely inspire players to get our and fly around even more.
This is precisely why I make sure to build my base right at the level where i port in at...so this sort of thing doesn't happen. Psh. Only 1992? I've been using one since 1986 or 1987 (when I was 2, lol...Go Go Tandy 1000!) All jokes aside...when you think of it like that...it blows my mind how far computers have advanced in 25 years compared to the first desktop PCs (like the Tandy, etc). )
I found Legris! He sells bombs and pickaxes! -53948926 -86430907 He's on planet c in a cave underneath the avian temple. That's all I'll give, good luck finding him!
