Yeah, you've got a good point there.

I do enjoy Starbound, but one can only invest so much time before 40 hours straight gets dull.

Here's an idea.. how about they start posting updates in one place instead of here, Twitter and god knows where else... Maybe it would at least cut down on these questions just a little, or not give people the impression that no one's been around since December 23. It isn't that hard to take two minutes and write a brief post saying a rough estimate of the next patch or a few fixes going into it.

I enjoy both games but the lack of new content can make the games get boring. Starbound has been pretty good about this, and im anticipating the next update, because i think the fact that its been a while means two things, the devs are busy with their lives, and the next update will have good content.

Cube World will be having a major update, starting the quest system and addition of more mobs and biomes.

I disagree with you entirely, not only does your post come across as rude, but also unnecessary.

This forums is a place for them to consolidate their information, other social media sites are more comfortable for them to use sometimes maybe, and more often than not, they post links to posts on these forums for other people to get here. They mostly use twitter for small updates that wouldnt be worth posting on the forums. If you have the impression that no one has been around since December, look again please, i see devs on all the time. However i wouldnt blame them for being absent, the holidays are a busy time of year.

And yes, it is hard to take time out of your day to post when youre busy enough trying to please your consumers with new content, and we do have a rough estimate of the next patch (within the next couple weeks).

Please try to be more understanding of the developers, they are working so hard to make this game what they promised, and please the community at the same time, sacrifices have to be made on both ends.

And why shouldn't it come? Nobody would have really doubted this ;-)

I hope that eventually, the game can support many different modes of play. Want to go explore the universe in your ship, fighting off boarders, discovering ruins and such, go ahead. Want to settle down and manage a new civilization that can eventually sustain itself? Do it.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news for the people who are expecting a big content update... It is too bad that people can't handle character wipes, or maybe he could have been working on something more content related. It seems like something that won't have any use after beta, but maybe... when they do any large updates post release it could come in useful. Who knows?

I'm here, the save stability changes are taking more time than expected and its too much work to split it out to do an intermediate update. Also the patch will be mostly bugfixes. I'm not giving an eta, so far that never worked out for us.

I'd rather have massive stability enhancements so that you have a stable system, server wise, multiplayer aspect and single player aspect. The more solid the game is with the initial issues the faster they can begin integration of new content while seeing what happens to past code that can be conflicted. I'd say its a smarter move, true it will drag out beta but it enables a less bugfree zone and promotes a more stable hotfix and update release. Hey look at it this way, their tackling the issue like the old game releases back when they didn't have all this networked freebased user debugging/complaining/feedback and thats really helping em push it to the limits

cube world seems to be dead. i would not mind if wollay dies before finishing it or he just quits because ITS JUST A HOBBY to make quick money for him.

Its not dead, people just dont play it because they got bored with the highly content-lacking version its in now. Soon it will be updated.

And i highly disagree, wollay dying would be unfortunate :/

    Saw whatcha did thar. :iswydt:

If I were a dev, I'd probably not update with clear cut 'patch should be out xx ", or even rough direct estimates that can setup disappointment. People always tend to grasp at straws, especially when the fervor on an awesome game like this has them chomping at the bit for moar everything. Always seems to get messy - many big name companies infamously avoid definitives (I'm looking at Valve and Blizzard, for two right off examples). I've seen a bunch of those get ugly.

I think a better idea would be a little snippet of 'this is what xx is working on today. It's going pretty well / going pretty rough...' That way impatient people, even if they don't know anything about what it is or means, will realize that something is being worked on - which reassures them. It doesn't setup a due date, just gives an indicator that it's going at a good or bad clip.

I agree with this, but it seems the devs don't feel all these 'tweets' are worthy of posting on the official forums, so what you gonna do? Bookmark the half-dozen other sites they are posting on I suppose.

Ah! That factor hadn't occurred to me. I was always in favor of a system that lessens character resets. But use for code like that post-full release is clear too. Thus I'm even more in favor now.

    Damn side effects.

You've reached the age where you are a MAN, and you do MANLY things. So why let slow patch production slow you down?
