I find this pretty annoying. If you hold S and press space you will move down through a platform. That is great but if you hold on for too long you will keep descending through all platforms underneath. In all honesty I would love to see it work the same as in Terraria. If you hold the S and space keys you descend through platforms but pause at each one. This would make traversing vertical shafts to the underground a lot easier, especially for the beginning of the game.
Or somehow they could change it so that it is SPACEBAR that is the triggering button, along with you have to hold down SPACEBAR to decend multiple platforms, instead of S.
Yes, it should be the space bar, not the S key, that determines of you continue to descend. It is much more natural to tap the space bar than tap the S key. I've died a lot by accidentally holding the S key for too long. Hold space bar to jump higher, tap it to jump shallow, likewise, hold space bar to descend further, tap to descend a little. It makes much more sense.
You just need to do: double S -> you "jump down" from any supporting structure if you want to "catch" another platform while falling you hit "a", or spacebar (a is better, spacebar is away from it) that's how it should be and how it has always been in platforms. even better? give us an option to chose our controls setting, problem solved.
Yeah I suggested the same thing where they make it both are required to be pressed to continue falling through and just holding s does not let you fall through.
I don't believe having a "lock-on" feature for falling through platforms is a good idea. That would further increase the issue we are talking about now where you fall through more platforms than intended and end up falling too fast.
Huh? What game implemented this strategy? I've never seen that before. I don't want to be negative but it sounds terrible. I don't want to have to actively press another button just not to fall to death. That'd make it even worse than having to release S.
