For example, if your race is from a high gravity planet and go to a lower gravity planet, Then you may have a change of abilites. Like faster running speed, jumping height, and some other powers. And vice versa. Another example is if a Floran goes to a planet that has a red star, then he/she will experience higher health, higher health regeneration. As well as some other features. This can also differ on how far you are from the star(s) on the planet. Pretty much Kryptonians from Superman.

i believe those arent abilites, they are just movement influenced by the gravity of the planet, and about your floran, those arent abilites, its just how your surroundings influence you=P, it should be more like hidden passives caused by the planet you are on
Well thanks for correcting me, I didn't know what it should be called so i just went with powers. Also thanks for replying to the thread!
THis pretty much goes under the same thing as "powers" really, And the devs aren't basing stats on the race choice. The armor gives the character his or her abilities.
It kinda won't make sense if say, Floran has same stats on a hotter planet than a human. Some races may change their body temp. like Florans heal in sunlight, so more intense sunlight may help them in different ways, and humans may tire through the hot temp.
I know this but this is a "Suggestion" i'm not saying it has to be in the game, but rather i am Suggesting it. I am well aware that armors do give your player stats, but i am suggesting a feature that they may or may not put in.
hehe he owned you when he pointed out "its a suggestion" And a very good suggestion I may add! Although it can have it's disadvantages. I mean the robotic Glitch would be very OP, they wont need oxygen, they wouldnt be affected by temperature, they would be a very OP class if the planets stats changed other races.
yes, but before you were asserting your wisdom so much on this post, but I think you did not realise that it was a suggestion for the game, not a discussion about already implemented features. The realisation of it being a suggestion perhaps made a little bit of an impact on your wise and very self engulfed posts. But i'm not here to bicker about small talk. I do however support this feature, if it could be balanced well in-game.
Now that is satire. I applaud you on your ability to wield it effectively. (I don't mean to come across as sarcastic, I mean it.) I do see the rudeness that I presented myself with and apologize to everyone involved, good day.
I like the idea of races being used to certain properties of a planet, and how it will impact them when traveling to a new one. Like if they were born on a very high gravity planet, they would obviously be a lot stronger which will make them better on lower gravity planets. But since Starbound doesn't have a strength system, this is how I would see it: When you travel to a new planet with lower gravity, you will get a speed and jump buff but less air control, which lasts longer depending on your previous planet. (Keep it around 10 min). The buff will weaken as the time counts down, and when you're at 0, you will be back on the gravity's normal influence (which may still be low if the gravity is low, the buff will only make it even lower). Going to a higher gravity planet will give you a speed and jump debuff instead. While I like the idea, just for how it adds to the game, I also think it would be rather annoying to see other people jump higher than you. So in my opinion it should be a very minor buff (but noticeable)
